yes. bluetooth sound quality is poor because it is using the voice chat channel.

usb has better sound quality. i am not sure what kind of usb devices work. (i only have bluetooth devices to test with.)

I think for usb speaker can work. Because I've tried it using usb headphones. The method may be the same, only need to plug in and change the sound output settings.

I don't know the sound quality produced by bluetooth headphones because I only have usb headphones.
For the sound produced usb headphones are quite good.
 
my bluetooth headphones keeps disconnecting everytime I open the audio device settings and when I open a game. I only installed 1 pkg file because there is only 1 pkg file. is there any file I need to install for this to work? please

you have to use the okay button at bottom of "audio device settings" after changing anything.

if you start the game and need to goto those settings, you do not have to quit the game. just press PS button in-game and goto the settings. they can be changed in-game.

there should be both an INSTALL pkg and a REMOVE pkg inside the ZIP file. a readme file is also included.
 
I installed the install pkg and it had been installed properly. its just that everytime I try to open the "audio device settings" my bt headset automatically unpairs itself to the ps3. it also unpairs when I open a game. everything seems to be installed properly. I even did the online installer. I am using 4.88 hen 3.03.

i forgot to mention my last post that some BT devices will have trouble with it.

sony's pulse headphones will not work properly. (this is why the feature was removed from official hen). my own earbuds need to be deleted and paired again everytime i reboot. a small speaker i borrowed said it was connected but the ps3 gave an error.

all i can recommend is try another device. also usb audio devices will sound better. the BT sound quality is poor.

Thanks for your work on this, I've been having some problems with the plugin, I tried everything and didn't make it work (before, I installed the version for 4.87 and didn't work, now I've been trying this version for Hen 4.88 and tried with some YouTube video -didn't worked-, then I tried with your PKG -and cleared it after-, then with the auto-installer web -didn´t worked-, reboot several times, and also re-installed HFW 4.88 and HEN 3.0.3 from some PKG on YouTube, and with the original Hen from Ps3xploit -didn´t work either-). The issue is that, even though I install the plugin and tried with different devices via BT and USB, none of them worked :/
My PS3 is a Slim version, do you think this can be part of the problem? Or what do you think? There's something I can do to at least make it work via USB? Thanks again!
 
some BT devices are not compatable. i do not have any USB devices, but i would avoid using a USB hub. if you install the mod properly, it will say "HEN 3.0.3 (BTGA)" instead of "Welcome to HEN 3.0.3".

make sure you have read this part:
After enabling HEN and registering the device, goto "Audio Device Settings". Change "Output Device" to your bluetooth device. Make sure you select "OK" when done! If you press circle, the changes will not be saved!

If your BT is connected but there is no sound in game, press PS and goto "Accessory Settings", "Manage Bluetooth Devices", highlight your device, press triangle, and select connect. You may have to exit game, connect, then start game again.

if have a cech-3xxx model, HEN is the only hack you can use. if you have a 20xx or 21xx, you can use CFW. 25xx model may or may not be able to use CFW (depending on when it was made).

if you use webman, it can enable the mod in a different way. (i think Ultimate Toolbox by DeViL303 can enable the mod using webman).

i am not sure exactly what happens with the pulse headphones, but they do not work properly with this hack. that is the reason this hack was removed from official HEN.
 
Don't expect every Bluetooth audio device to work, BT audio support is shaky on ps3.
It works well with some devices, partially or not at all with others
It looks like S#ny had bigger plans for Bluetooth in general, they implemented basic audio support then apparently gave it all up.
It's not just with Bluetooth devices, a number of other cool features were abandoned along the way, leaving behind more or less functional & largely unused code.

i'm using it with a usb sound card and it worked surprisingly well. the only thing however is that the sound was quite low.
is there any chance that in a future update we can adjust the sound volume?
or maybe the volume can only be adjusted on the usb card itself, in which case I could somehow edit the card "registers" using the pc? it would be very archaic and laborious, but still useful.

i'm sorry but the quality can not be improved. USB headphones will have better quality than bluetooth.

reinstall HFW and then official HEN to get rid of the mod. i haven't seen or heard of this problem before so i don't know anything else to do.
 
Is there a way to change the volume? because for me it's simply too loud, I can obviously change the volume of the game itself however things like the menu of the games are still pretty loud so I was wondering if there is a way
