March 23, 2024 -- AutoHEN is updated for HEN 3.3.0 for HFW 4.91. Other firmwares may be added if I find time and can test them.

The installer script has been improved. It can now install files to flash directly, so it installs full, official HEN without the need of installing the pkg after reboot. It is now the simpliest and most reliable HEN installer, in my opinion.

Please read all the tabs before asking questions!

Online Installer Release Notes Offline Guide

  • Use these simple instructions to install online...
    1. Open https://ps3addict.github.io/autohen in PS3 browser.
    2. The download should start automatically
    3. After download completes, press Circle and the PS3 will install and reboot.

    And you are done! Enable HEN and enjoy!

  • IMPORTANT NOTES:

    Firmware requirements:
    • You must be on Hybrid Firmware (HFW) 4.91 to use this installer. If you are NOT on HFW, install it before using this installer. If you have trouble finding or installing HFW, see my firmware guide HERE).
    • You do NOT need to install Official Firmware (OFW). HEN and the auto installer need HFW to work.
    • You only need to install HFW one time.

  • How to host the installer for yourself...

    For instructions to setup kWS on Android as a webserver, see this post. You can use a different websever if you want to, but kWS is simple so I recommend it.

    Part 1 -- GETTING AND PREPARING THE FILES:
    • Download the release zip file for your HFW version from the link at bottom of this post.
    • Extract the files from zip file and copy them into your webserver's home directory. There should be three files. Do NOT rename them.
      Part 2 -- RUNNING INSTALLER:
    • Connect your phone/PC to the same network as your PS3.
    • Start your webserver and note the IP address and port number.
    • Turn on PS3.
    • Open browser.
    • Enter IP addres and port number seperated by a colon.
    • When the webpage loads it will start to download a file named SETUP.P3T.
    • When it says "Download completed" press CIRCLE.
    • It will say "Installing files" and should reboot in a few seconds.

Online Host:
(Open the page in PS3 browser. HFW version will be detected and correct installer loaded.)

each one contains the files extracted from the hen pkg (with a few changes) and the full hen pkg itself (placed under packages folder for full install). so they should be about double the size of each fw's hen pkg.

now its clear cause when i did it , it gave same size + few kilobytes

i can not make 4.82 port by myself. it would require editing the hen enabler html file in a way that i can not do. also the last 4.82 official hen is old so it would be missing some features and stability improvements.
 
the only useful scenario for 4.82 is for those with broken BD/BT/wifi where they can't update any newer HFW version, but if they stay with 4.82 they could still exploit the webkit browser and install HEN.

True but if everything goes well with the testing & the finishing touches, the new HEN installer/enabler should support 4.80 to 4.82 OFW & 4.83 to 4.88 HFW.

I am only waiting for esc0rtd3w to be available for the testing phase & finalising a public release version.

oh great to hear. I'll try to submit a new PR for the act.dat restore, I'll just remove the whole linking and readdir(...) stuff. I'm thinking about going super simple, doing a standard file copy (read() /write() ) and a finite defined loop.

Edit: I've submitted a new PR to PS3HEN that adds the act.dat restore, with the super simple method. Just a file copy and hardcoded loop, to avoid any issues. I hope esc0rtd3w can review it when he's back.

I'm curious, will it support PS2 ISO like CFW?

In theory no, it should be released on **ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new) as usual HOWEVER esc0rtd3w hasn't been available for a while, he has had more important things to deal with than PS3 related stuff & although he said he would be back at some point, I don't want to hassle him, he deserves peace & quiet until he makes a decision about future commitments.
So to be blunt I don't really know when he will be back or even if he will be willing to continue testing the HEN project & maintaining its online presence, I hope so but I am not sure.
If it turns out he wants to take a longer break, people may have to wait until I add HEN to the PS3 Toolset.

A word of warning if ever HEN was to be integrated to the PS3 Toolset & no longer updated on **ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new), HEN would work on OFW 4.80+, it would no longer need HFW but there is no offline Toolset so there would be no official offline HEN, at least not until I implement a new hack to launch my exploits offline which is not a priority & won't be for a while.
