4.93 EVILNAT (Cobra 8.5)

PS3 4.93 Evilnat w/ Cobra v8.5 - (CEX/PEX/D-PEX) 4.93

@MojArch Hey there, well i presume that you are talking about your issue:

And the last one before this quoted...

Well what can i say ?
Maybe you are facing some kind of issues due to update from a Rebug release to Evilnat one.
So, i must say that i did the same in past, I don't remember well but i think i get some kind of instability on system.
What i can suggest for you, is to really do a nice and fresh CFW install.
I mean do a backup of your important data like NOR and other Dumps and Save Game Data to one external HDD or USB stick, i think you should know what i mean and how to do it.
Than, start the process, verify and enable QA Flags on your running CFW, after that check the minimum version your console model support.
If 3.50 is supported or lower, good, pick from internet or maybe here on forum the OFW 3.55.
After that do the same process of Update using an Mass Storage Device, not internet mode.
I think you not need to enter in Recovery/Safe Mode to do this but get some help from YouTube on downgrade process.
After you do it, you should be now again on old 3.55 OFW, then with this clean and new fresh install with all internal disk and system formatted, get the EvilNat 4.90CFW from the beggining of this Thread.
Choose the correct one according with your model and console type.
I am using CEX (OC) and is working perfect and smooth, after a nice and good maintance of my cooler, motherboard and CPU/GPU cores.
To conclude, install only for primary experiments, WebMan MOD Latest release and if you are using one NTFS External HDD, it's better to get PrepISO 1.30 (Latest) and nothing more, go to WebMan MOD Web Setttings and look for something related with Don't check automatically files... or devices... thick what needs to be thicked or unthicked.
After that all, always you want to reload games from that NTFS HDD, just use PrepISO, let it do is black screen and after that on WebMan MOD games list will be updated.

Hope this long replay help's you.
Thanks
he needs to reinstall webman and then run the installer while holding L1 until restart. i think it will fix it...

@Coro, well maybe could fix it yes.
Remembering, that L1 press on WebMan MOD is for a Full install of it.
BTW, I have faced my issues using and installing always the Full WebMan MOD.
Again, only faced this issue now and reading NTFS External HDD.
And now i think this is only related with WebMan MOD kind of bug, and nothing directly with CFW.

We must not forget, he is facing as far as I see, some issues not just one.
So my opinion is simple, when issues occurs we must try to find where they start or the possible reason.
I mean and don't misunderstood me, "mixing" CFW Teams and Releases could cause some little errors due to some kind of possible caches and internal residues of each CFW Team Release, stuff that developers should know that could be residual content.
Assuming that, a fresh install might be suggested to avoid those mixes.
For me @MojArch should do a downgrade to 3.55 OFW if possible, then after he is on it, update again to 4.90 using Evilnat CFW.

Cumps.

Yeap, we were talking about it earlier today, he told me that the offsets maybe are different on hen, that's why it is not working.

I think he'll take a look at it or in your source code.

@Evilnat if you are going to find new patches in the future

One nice patch would be to allow copy protected saves, maybe it can be patched in explorer_plugin.sprx

as you can see above, we cant copy it to another user or external drives

would be nice if we can enable it on all saves, it's a mucH needed patch

I hope to find the "fake save data owner" patch for CEX VSH

Good morning. I installed CFW Evilnat 4.90 CEX on two CECHC04 following exactly the same procedure. I proceeded to the update in OFW 4.90 then Flashwriter then installation of CFW. Then I have a restoration via the recovery mod then a second installation of CFW Evilnat 4.90 CEX.
I notice two things: If I restore the PS3 system via the recovery mod the free space on the hard drive is 27/60GB. If I restore the PS3 system via the XMB, the free space on the hard disk is 47/60GB. For what?
Second thing: On one GPU/VRAM reading still works. On the other GPU/VRAM reading never works. I have reinstalled and restored on both PS3s 4 times each and still the same result. From where can prevent this difference?
THANKS

Thanks, and also sorry for answering a bit late. i was busy with other things.
This solution seems good, but this is a route that I try to avoid at the moment.
First, i dont have spare hdd to move data.
Second, there might be some locked save files that won't move to external HDD or a thumb drive.
Are there any other suggestions?
Would it help if i re instal cfw again?(btw i use pex with cex mode)

As much as I want to say that works, but nope.
I have already done that.
Tried both full and lite mode.
Deleted and reinstalled.
The only thing i am suspected of is that I don't have boot_plugins.txt file, and i don't know how to make one or if there is any way to make the system to build one.

@Evilnat After playing a PS2iso and returning to XMB, i can't connect to the internet anymore, the wifi led turns off and even going to Network Settings it gets stuck on Scaning Wi-Fi

I dunno if it is a known behavior but i never tested it on previous versions, only rebooting the system re-enables the wi-fi

Edit:
I can't use webMAN mod too, it says NOT READY!

@aldostools

If i mount a PS2 game for example while using OFW Mode on Evilnat 4.89.2 (no SC) it will freeze the console

And yeap my boot_plugins_nocobra.txt is using webftp_server_noncobra.sprx, i tried both but same thing.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

@Evilnat While on OFW Mode: ON , we can't change the mode again, it says "Syscalls 8 disabled or partially disable" it's better to show, something like "Syscalls are disabled or partially disable, use the create syscalls option first to Switch Modes" or the option could enable automatically the required syscalls for this option.

That is not happening to me, I have only multiMAN and webMAN MOD and I load PS2 games with webMAN MOD. Are you using a fresh CFW installation or do you have something else installed?

Yeap and i just re-installed to make sure and same thing i also tried mounting the game, deleting boot_plugins.txt, launch the game and exit it to see if webMAN could be the issue but same thing.

I'll downgrade my system to see if it's firmware releated or not

Edit:
I installed 4.86 Rebug LE and same issue lol

Edit 2:
I formatted my system and same thing, well it's strange but it's not a big deal, I can live with it ahhaha

Do we have a decent enough recommended automatic fan setting to use on a normal Slim model with the OC, or without it ?
I noticed it is now built-in to the newer Evilnat FWs, and would prefer to try that rather than Webman system, as I do not know how reliable it is over the default Syscon.

Hi again.
I am happy to report that my problem is solved.
Thnx everyone for ideas and helpful info.

If you wonder what to get it working again, i just reinstalled evilant 4.90 again.(at first didn't do/want to do taht, cause somewhere here in this topic, it was mentioned that do not install cfw twice.)

hmm after installed CFW Evilnat 4.90 Cobra 8.4 [CEX]
today my ps3 turned itself on, bluray-drive keep grinding noise while booting, after booted into XMB , and randomly running after that, even when there's no disc inside, is this weird?

i feel like it keep inject disc cuz i saw inject disc blue light turned on while make that grinding noise

Do you have Automatic Updates turned on?

Do you have Automatic Updates turned on?
it off as default,

so i just insert ps4 disc for it and leave it there, i think it's ok, or not, when power on with disc inside, it just have weird sound at first time, like it try to inject and then immediately read disc at same time

my 1st ps3 25xx with 4.86 cfw rebug still normal, and if i'm remember, w evilnat 4.88 i dont have this problem for 2nd ps3 20xx

So, I have a CECHA01 model that I just got. It has never been modded. Its on system software version 4.82. I cant seem to get this to install. When I attempt to install from USB, It gets to about 70% then I get a error code saying it is corrupt even thought I have compared the md5 of the source and destination files are the same. I used the bgtoolset tool on the ps3s web browser and tried again, still no luck. Anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong?
