Well, PSOne Classics are intended to be downloaded from PSN, so it figures that they should be under PSN content. When you package a PS1 game as a classics title, the pkg is basically an installer that installs the game into the PSN content tab.
I'm not really sure why you bother though, you can just copy the bin/cue files into the PSXISO directory and mount them using webMAN MOD like you do with PS3 games. Note that all PS3 models are backwards compatible with PS1 games (both discs and ISO). The whole BC models thing is just for PS2 games.
PS2 games do a semi-restart because the PS2 emulator "takes over" certain hardware peripherals. Hardware like the USB ports, network and some other stuff needs to be directly controlled by the emulator, so the full GameOS can't be running in the background and using those. That's why you can't run PS2 ISOs from USB disks and you need to copy them to the internal HDD first. That's also the reason why webMAN MOD can't keep running in the background (which is in turn the reason why dynamic fan control is not available when playing PS2 games).
ISO decryption is only needed if you have a ReDump type ISO, which is what you get when you rip a PS3 disc on a PC or when you explicitly turn off decryption in multiMAN. By default, multiMAN (and IRISMAN) automatically decrypts games when you rip them, so the resulting ISO is not encrypted to begin with.
But PS2 Classics as well as PKG in general come also from the PSN and they don't go to the PlayStation Network section when run (except PSOne Classics, precisely).
Even though the PS3 is compatible with many PS1 games, it may have issues with some. Those games may have a PSOne Classic version (which was specifically made for the PS3) and so it shouldn't have issues unlike the original PS1 version.
It's an odd restart since the screens turns on with the PS2 game already being ran. So, does that mean PS3 controllers only work via BT when running PS2 games? What if running PS2 games via OPL on PS3 Fat? Can PS2 games hosted from a PS3 USB device work this way?
Also, I have the 80010017 error message when running some ReDump ISOs (and others not, which is odd) even after having uploaded the ISO and the corresponding key (both have the same name) to "/dev_hdd0/PS3ISO" and clicking "Decrypt 3k3y/Redump ISOs (HDD)". Like I said, a message appears saying "Could not find any encrypted ISO file". How can I fix this?
