4.93 EVILNAT (Cobra 8.5)

PS3 4.93 Evilnat w/ Cobra v8.5 - (CEX/PEX/D-PEX) 4.93

yes the x o when checking storage after improper shutdown needs fixing thats the only issue so far. also i think this custom firmware is as feature rich as possible time to rest. if sony update again simply update aes keys build number to reflect the latest update ex 4.92 then call it a day

Hi, yesterday I updated my CFW to 4.91.2. I have a slim CECH-2004A and I am interested in OC. As I understand, I just need to install the 4.91.2 [OC] version to achieve 600/750. How safe is this? Will I be able to revert the OC at any time by simply installing the standard CFW 4.91.2? Will there be any consequences due to that?

It's not too high, so you should be good. And, yes, just install that other pup if you don't want oc anymore.

Thank you for your response. Regarding reversing the overclock, I've read that it's recommended to have a hardware flasher, but when comparing a hardware flasher and installing STOCK CFW via USB, I don't see significant differences. Do you know what the differences are and if there are any major issues with a standard STOCK CFW installation if the overclock doesn't work out for me?

Hi
I recently install CFW 4.91.2
When I try to sign in to PSN error 8002A535 shows up
Any solution?
Thank you so much @Evilnat for exelent work

Error 8002A535 = SCE_NP_CORE_ERROR_SSL_HANDSHAKE_FAILED

1. Make sure you're using the final release of CFW Evilnat 4.91.2. (update if you have a beta version)
2. Check that the PS3 clock has the correct date/time.
3. Check that the Internet connection is working and PSN status is up.

Is it safe to use on all FAT models without additional cooling or is OC only recommended for slims & franks?

It's up to you and the condition of your PS3. I'm not fond of overclocking because it degrades the silicon with little performance gains (only the RSX can be overclocked and most PS3 games are CELL intensive or bad optimized), so I don't play around with it.

Ok, yeah it's already cap replaced from ylod,
I guess I don't want to do it any further damage now that it's stable if there's little to no real benefit, I can always pickup a mini pc in the future or something an emulate them in 4k etc, does the ps4 or ps5 even have real ps3 emulation or are they all recompiled xbox/pc code titles?
I know the base ps4 does ps2 in 1080p, is that bumped to 4k with the pro or ps5 or is it just running in ps4 mode then upscaled to 4k instead of native 4k?

Evilnat's overclocked the RSX just a little bit, so it won't burn your console. But any kind of overclocking is out of the PS3 specs and will take a toll on the longevity of the RSX.

So, again, it's up to you. Many people found the so called "sweet spot" of the RSX (the best overclock possible with the most efficiency gains), knowing that playing at those clocks will reduce their RSX life.

Check this thread on RSX overclocking, it's really long but it has tons of information, tutorials, test cases, etc.: https://www.psx-place.com/threads/p...our-retail-ps3-rsx-speeds-ps3-cfw-only.36801/

How do you run ps2 from external drive? When I run from external drive it just copies to internal
