4.93 EVILNAT (Cobra 8.5)

PS3 4.93 Evilnat w/ Cobra v8.5 - (CEX/PEX/D-PEX) 4.93

Hey @Evilnat, there's a bug in the PS1 Emulator via webmanmod @aldostools. When pressing the PS button during gameplay and selecting options like smoother or fullscreen mode, the game switches to widescreen, misaligning in-game items (e.g., doors and item boxes). I tested RE1 and RE3, and both had the same issue. Any ideas?
It is the feature. FullScreen enables 16x9 support for ps1 games. Hybrid games: 3d & 2d have issues for sure

Hi, amazing work in the emulators! I have a question, is it possible to save fan settings once you go to PS2_netemu? I have set 30% fan speed since that's enough in winter, but I need to ramp up that in summer. However, webMAN MOD PS2 speed is not working, Cobra fan speed doesn't either. I need to manually set it up everytime I boot a PS2 game, and the other problem is that I play using a generic USB joystick, is it possible to add support so the player 2 controller changes the fan speed? Thanks!

that is for sure bro, but I did mean without changing any settings, just checking it in menu changes the aspect, is it ok?

@Evilnat @aldostools it is for 3 days that I am trying to refresh my game list in webman mod running on latest evilnat CFW but it just freezes and I have to unplug the power cord to restart the console, any idea or suggestion ?

Do you have external drive attached at this moment? With external drive sometimes webman mod refresh freezes my ps3s

It could be caused by a corrupted ISO or bad name of a game.

Update webMAN MOD to the latest build using the online updater, reboot, uninstall webMAN MOD after reboot to remove all related files.

Unplug all USB devices from the PS3 and refresh the game list. If the problem persits, also rename the folders in the internal HDD:
/GAMES, /PS3ISO, /PS2ISO, /PSPISO, /PSXISO and /ROMS

Reinstall webMAN MOD. After you get the game list displayed on XMB, rename the folders to the original name and plug back the USB devices. It's recommended to do this gradually (rename just one and refresh the game list) until you identify which folder is causing the freeze.

@Evilnat, awesome on the updates. I was wondering, for other os, is yours like rebug (no need to downgrade) other os ++ fw 3.55 based? I would like to add linux, but dont wanna glod my 40 nm frankie A01 NAND. Can't find a hw flasher either. Maybe I am just stuck without linux. Would be cool to have though just because.

Hi again @aldostools as u said I tried lots of times it is ok without external HDD but when I use it with only one folder which is named as PS3ISO with about 30 ISO files it freezes and light is changing to blink in yellow and green then I have to manually turn it off by pressing the turn off button and this loop continues....

Hello, my PS3 has Evilnat 4.91 overclocked version installed. Would it be a problem if I install Evilnat 4.92.2 directly?

There could be various causes for your issue:
1- Bad sector in your external disk
2- Disk or ISO could be too fragmented
3- Bad file name (e.g. too long, invalid character, non-ANSI characters, etc.)
4- Corrupted ISO
5- etc.

Now that you identified that the issue is in the folder PS3ISO and it contains 30 ISO files, the easiest way to identify the bad file is splitting the folder in 2 groups (move the half of the ISO files to a temporary folder TMP and leave the other half of files in PS3ISO).

If it doesn't freeze the bad file is found in the TMP folder. In this case, rename PS3ISO as GOOD and TMP as PS3ISO and try again.
If it freezes, the bad file is in PS3ISO. In this case, split the folder again in 2 groups. Move the half to TMP2 and keep the other half in PS3ISO and repeat the scanning until you have a group of goods ISOs and another group of bad ISOs or unknown status.

Take in count that you could have more than one bad ISO file. e.g. In the first iteration you could have a bad ISO in TMP and in PS3ISO.

is the drive powered from the usb or with external power?

Hello Sir again, I tried a lot and found sth unusual, the thing that causes the freezing is not the hard drive but a file in /dev_hdd0/temp/wmtmp
which is a list file.
I have to delete this file each time before reloading the game list, after deleting everything goes fine.
any idea?

an external hdd with usb power

I guess you mean slist.bin. That file is created during the content scanning for use by sLaunchMOD (the game menu plugin),

The length of the game title + file path + icon path should be less than 508 bytes. A buffer overflow could happen if the paths are too large (more than 168 each).

If you have ISOs with file names or sub-folders too large, try reducing the length of the file names to avoid issues.

NOTE: Some unicode characters (non-ANSI) use between 2 up to 6 bytes, but only 1 character is displayed.

Yes Sir, that's right
But I think deleting the file is easier than checking file names or the location or unicodes which are used in iso names, only my ps1 games cue files are in subfolders
But I am very thankful and appreciate your kindness for you help
But it would be better if u could find a solution for that problem

Anyone experiencing video settings return to 576p when powering on console, then getting the HDMI cable was found, do you want to change the settings?

I get that a lot, last times. I switched to 4.86 rebug lite for a few days and I don't have this issue anymore

Hi, I have a Japanese PS3 with OFW 4.81. To install CF 4.91, do I have to install OFW 4.91 first? Or can I install it directly from this? Thanks.

First go to ps3toolset.com from PS3 Internet browser, follow the instructions to apply BGToolset patch. Reboot. Then install CFW 4.92.2 directly from OFW 4.81 patched with BGToolset.

You can do everything directly from OFW 4.81 without having to update to a higher OFW.

It is NOT necessary to install CFW twice as suggested above.
