He didn't update the topic. Check his github for the new release. If already on 4.92.2 you can also do an Internet update and it will update to the newest CFW, but make sure not to do it if you're still on the first 4.92 CFW or anything lower, because that would install OFW and you'd be locked out until bgtoolset is updated.

4.93 EVILNAT (Cobra 8.5)
Here it is the latest version of CFW 4.93. It has been tested and no issues have been seen, if you see any issue, don't hesitate to let me know

There are several improvements that I haven't been able to add due to the release of OFW 4.93; I will add them in version 4.93.2

For people on 4.92/4.92.2 you can download it via internet like OFW, but it will show 4.93 variants. To do that you will need a patch in DEX VSH first (CEX works fine), install this PKG and load it, the PS3 will reboot and then you will be able to update the CFW with DEX VSH

Thank you, I didn't expect the PS3 to still get updates.
I have a question about 'Restore CFW Syscalls without reboot, just entering Settings > System Update on the XMB'. If we're already logged into PSN and then restore the CFW syscalls, won't we risk getting banned?

You need to disable internet access first before reactivating syscalls to prevent it from sending any data about your PS3

Is it worth the update?

If you're looking to do anything PSN-related (online multiplayer, trophy sync, etc.), and/or if you use your PS3 to play newer Blu-rays, then yes. Otherwise, it's 100% optional..
Sony has been doing yearly updates (mostly) for keeping the Blu-ray player up-to-date..

Evilnat never said anything about a 4.93.2 so don't assume anything. It may or may not happen at all, and if it does happen, only Evilnat knows what's planned.
4.93 is stable after the PSN bugfix. You can safely update. Worst case you can always downgrade back. It's basically 4.92.2 rebased on 4.93, so the only changes are those carried over from OFW (AACS keys, SSL certificates).
