7.51 update from 7.50 using USB flash drive...

I have an original PS4 system that had a 500gb hard drive in it and I swap the hard drive for a 2tb hard drive. The system was running on 7.50 and I downloaded the 7.51 official update and I put it on my flash drive as it's supposed to be... But for some reason is telling me that it cannot use the update file and that I need to connect another flash drive with the correct file... What am I doing wrong here? Is 7.51 too new because the system was originally on 7.50 and I'll need to download 7.50?

If you replaced the hard drive, you need to download a full 7.51 PUP and not just the update PUP.

Click the right link (Download PS4 reinstallation file) and use this file to install the firmware onto your PS4. Note that this will wipe the contents of the hard drive.

The reinstallation file is all I need or will I also need the update file to go along with it?

Only the reinstallation file.

it's called the recovery update. that's the nearly 1GB update to tell the difference. otherwise, it won't find the update.
