About PS2 games convert to PS3 in pkg format

I just made a post in community of my own Facebook , It's about Resident Evil Games , in short, I was created announcement in there to play Resident Evil ( Biohazard Outbreak ) Online , some folks in there told me that He used to play Biohazard Outbreak Online on his cfw PS3 , I guess he using convert ps2 game to ps3 pkg method , I just think that is not possible If Online function of the game can be work after convert to pkg , He is probably lying or trying to make fun of me , I'm not sure , can everyone clarify and explain to me about this ? Is it possible to play PS2 game online In PS3 cfw pkg convert method ? I play Biohazard Outbreak Online myself using OPL on real PS2.

not 100% sure but i think PS2Classics use "Software" emulation so no i dont think you could do it as a PKG, you COULD do it as a ISO but it would first depend if your PS3 has "Hardware" backwards compatability and not "Software"

Thanks for reply , You're absolutely right , Online function for PS2 game on PS3 only possible with Hardware emulation in early PS3 model that has Emotion Engine built in , I guess still not possible thru these days by conversion pkg or software emulation in general , some folks I mention about definitely lying , I don't think he own early PS3 model with BC Hardware, He only mention cfw PS3 Lol.

There is actually, called PS2Classics PKG GUI. You can convert PS2 ISOs into PKG file, make it compatible with non-BC PS3 consoles. However, you may need to apply patches from this site:PS2 CONFIG Database (aldostools.org) if there is issues running PS2 titles on non-BC PS3 consoles.

Yeah I used to try PS2 classic GUI a while back , I use that program on my pc to convert my ps2 game iso to pkg , I even add configuration from compability list for specific game I try to conver just to make sure it runs without any issues but still on some games I have test it still have framerate drop problem and uncommon problem like out of sync in game cutscenes , and of course online function on any PS2 tittle is not possible to work on this PS2 classic gui,,but still awesome program overall.
