PS3 If I update my PS3 Games via Wifi can I backup the Updates?

When I launch my games it asks me if I want to update when I am online. I have been thinking about just applying all updates I can and then backing them up so I have them. Is there a places these are stored so I can back them up from the PS3 HDD? If so where are they located. I assume I could FTP to it and grab them. Thanks for any advice or help.

Updates, DLC and game cache are mixed together. Cannot be separated (only few games keeps different folders for DLCs). Paths you can find in Ultimate UserData Backup guide, in tutorials section.

Best way to backup updates is downloading them on PC, unpacking all, merge all in order. Archive by 7-Zip (LZMA) or WinRAR (RAR5) or on Linux tar.xz (LZMA).

Thanks. I ended up just downloading all the separate update PKG files and stored them with my games. This way I have them for future use. Thanks for the updates and feedback though.
