My second post of the evening. Tonight, I noticed that if I turn my PS2 off and then attempt to turn it back on instantly, the console does not seem to boot as there is no video output. If I wait 30-45 seconds to turn the system on, the console boots normally. I am accustomed to being able to turn the console on immediately after shutting it down, so I am worried that something is very, very wrong.
Has anyone ever had this happen? Might it have anything to do with a Noctua fan mod that I installed? The fan mod is the only thing I have done to the console recently and I know that it consumes a different amount of power than the stock fan, so I am wondering if that difference interferes with normal operation.
The issue happens both after (1) booting into FHDB and running games off the HD and (2) running the console without FHDB (e.g., with the HD removed and just running games off regular discs).
I also noticed some video distortion (thin green lines) randomly happening during one part of one game. I am not sure what the relation between the lines and the shutdown/turnon issue is, if there is one. I am also not sure whether the lines are an issue at all, as during one incident where the lines were showing, I hot-swapped the AV cables and the lines did not display after I plugged in the second cable.
