Hi people. I'm new on PSX-Place and this is my first post.

I have a PS3 slim that has around 30 games installed. Because I don't have the Bluray discs I made a backup several months ago on an external HDD, it took like 15 hours I think (almost 500GB).

This month I ended up making a factory reset to the PS3 and then restoring the backup. It took around 22 hours, no errors showed up. Everything ok. Even HEN (4.88) and MultiMAN were restore correctly. I can play some games that are in carpet format (internal hdd) enabling HEN (4.88) and using multiMAN to launch them.

The problem is that games listed in the PS3 game list (XMB I mean) can not be play. An error for everysingle of them appears:

80010006

I tried to launch them with HEN enabled and disabled, no luck.

I'm trying to log-in to my PSN account but it says there's a new update, but when I try to, a psx-place message appears that I have to wait until a new HEN update comes up. So, I can not log in to the PSN account to see if that is the issue.

If anyone has some clue on how can I proceed, I would appreciate it.

Thread title is misleading. In theory You didn't loose any games.

System backup is a trash, it is extremely slow, and not restoring licenses or trophies, even on the same console (on another console, not restoring anything except content not protected by IDPS). Better for You if You will do this manually next time: https://www.psx-place.com/threads/ultimate-userdata-backup-guide.29037/

0x80010006 https://psdevwiki.com/ps3/Error_Codes
The file does not exist Note : This error can happen when you try to install a pkg that have an invalid name.

Sounds like system backup wasn't restored correctly. Or maybe database rebuild will help if this issue is only a broken db, because it forcing PS3 to read again all PARAM.SFO of e.g games and again build XMB entries based on that. In theory SBU should do this and for sure did, but maybe for some reason is broken. If this not help, do below Gehenna.

Another approach would be extracting games and licenses from System Backup archives and moving them manually to PS3 HDD via file manager or FTP client (plus mandatory database rebuild after that because content in XMB is not read in real time).

For this You need Your IDPS and OpenPSID. And be familiar with command line because Kakaroto's tool is available only in CLI.

Thank you so much for the quick response.

I entered Safe Mode and tried options 3 and 4. Both 2 times, it took around 5 minutes each one.

--- SAFE MODE ---
1. Restart system
2. Restore default settings
3. Restore file system < --------------------------
4. Rebuild database < ----------------------------
5. Restore PS3 system
6. System update

No luck however. Every "non-hen" game (installed from an official blu-ray disc) still shows the error 80010006.

I read the PDF you shared. 5 full pages of valuable information I wish I had several months ago. In fact, I was looking for something like that for a quite long, just for the pleasure of reading it. Thanks for making it.

What is Gehenna? Is it the jewish hell or is it related to the PS3 hack scene?

I will search more about the Kakaroto's tool. I know it has to be made under linux, I think. But tell me something, if you know about it:

After extracting the games from the backup files and moving them into the ps3, would I be able to play them without the use of hen or any other hacking tool?

I will copy the backup files once again into the external hdd and try to restore them again. Will let you know if it works or not. If not, I will try kakaroto's tool to see how it goes.

Once again, thanks for the PDF.

not exactly. it is a real place near Jerusalem that has was used for child sacrifice and later as a burning trash dump. it has come to be used like the word Hell (when the word is used to mean "misery"). i believe that is what he means here -- misery, suffering, and woe.

the word usually translated as Hell (Sheol) actually is a place more like Hades. it is were everyone goes when they die (untill the next existence anyway).

anyways, i have to close the thread because you don't have the discs. no disk=no right to a backup of that disk. sorry :(

Wuou, didn't know that about Jerusalem. Thanks for the info dude.

I didn't know how to make a simple post (what I actually wanted) and I ended up making a thread. If you know how can I make a post, the info will be much appreciate it.

Also, sorry, I missed the "no disk=no right" rule. But the games are not hen or anything, they were officially installed using the blu-ray discs of the games and they are tied to just one PS3, my PS3. The restore backup files even have my PSN account.

I still wanna share the results of my actions, with the (once again) restore process or with the kakaroto's tool. Don't wanna go against the web rules so: where could I post that info on this web site?

Firstly, please explain how you install these hdd games.
If you downloaded from ps store, you will need to reactive the license online.
If they other method, we can also find a way to fix it.

You're welcome. ^^

No special tool, :D just a description how annoying the process is to retrieve data from "sysbup" and send it/copy it by hand to PS3. But probably You have no choice but to try this method.

I will search more about the Kakaroto's tool. I know it has to be made under linux, I think. But tell me something, if you know about it:
I forgot the application name, yet I remembered the author, and just few days ago my computer died so I don't have access to my backups to check it and e.g upload it (there was several versions, few forks, and also Windows ports). Sorry for been cryptic.

After extracting the games from the backup files and moving them into the ps3, would I be able to play them without the use of hen or any other hacking tool?
If this is the same console, the same user number and the same NP Account ID, then activation file and licenses will match. So the answer is yes.

Of course You need HEN to run FTP server to be able connect to it by FTP client on PC, or use file manager and USB. But after that, all bought content will be runnable as on pure OFW if all those conditions will be fulfilled.

I will copy the backup files once again into the external hdd and try to restore them again. Will let you know if it works or not.
Sure.

I don't really understand why You have such problem. If archive/s is/are broken, then restoring process would be stopped. If pendrive is broken (e.g bad blocks which sysbup somewhere covering them), then the same as above because archives be broken. So maybe some bugs in SBU? Or internal HDD bad sectors?

Hi, and thanks for the reply.

All those games were installed using the original blu-ray discs, none of them were downloaded from PS Store. I'm searching for info on how to proceed about the error.

Yes, it is the same console (I only have one), the name of the user is the same and the same PSN account.
For the Kakaroto's tool I think is best trying it with a small game first, and if it works I could go with the heavier things.

Or internal HDD bad sectors?

I guess this is. Is just that low level format takes so long.

I was playing TLOU for the second time, but game performance was really low. I could only see the head of the main character, sometimes neither even the head was showing up. So I decided to make the restore process. Bad idea, really bad idea.
