PS2 An Ode to KrHACKen & POPSTARTER

also upload the patch but created from the USA version which is the version in which the modification was created, I will see if it can be ported to TROJAN, since if you created it based on the Europe version It is a lot of the change impossible to differentiate what is the modification in the code.

Making the patch on USA version is 71KB.

I think it'd be good enough to make the patch on the USA game, adding in the notes about it.

I guess also the author of the original patch couldn't find the "audio 50/60hz switch", so he simply put the tracks on the NTSC-U game.

I'd like to do a similar thing in FFVIII but I don't know how to extract the files from the .img file that's into the iso (on Bugs Bunny is much easier since the game's files/folders are into the ISO root).

Here comes the super explanation that took me 3 minutes of my life hahaha:

For GT2 I did create the updated fix in xdelta patch, I simply interrupted an initial cleanup routine and freed up useless ram from this cleanup, to keep my assembly code injection, for most PS1 games at some point they make use of the DMA CD for transfer raw or encrypted data to some dynamic point of the 2MB of Ram, then if they are encrypted it starts an algorithm to decrypt it and take it to its necessary addresses, I mentioned Rayman 2 because in this game I couldn't, like Ace Combat 3, the data transferred from your external files to the executable is encrypted, so for these small cases the correction will be in CHEATS.TxT format or in TROJAN_#.BIN, in fact I already have it ready but I am missing a detail I must disable the integrated corrections of the Popstarter because they conflict with my correction, I want to include all this in the TROJAN, if it takes me a lot of work then it has to be deactivated from CHEATS.TXT with the com I'm $UNDO_GAME_FIXES

Hello, I just tried your POPStarter fix for FF7 (it isn't on your package, I got the link from a YT video where they say the patch is made by you).

The Trojan_0.bin made the game perfectly playable but it also automatically enables the "save anywhere" cheat (and maybe some other I don't know). How should I edit the patch for disabling any cheat, it is difficult to do?

No other cheat is enabled within the TROJAN, Just save anywhere and I disable code that corrupts MC is a protection that corrupts saved games or appears to, The purpose of including saving anywhere is so that if you have a crash or problem you can solve it by restarting the game, and so that you are not bothering me that now I must correct another hang, If you don't want to save anywhere just do it from the save points I do.

I also recommend getting the patches directly from the page that released them since that is where I update them so that they always have the updated one:

I see. I'd have liked more a separate CHEATS.TXT but I understand not everyone read cheat descriptions/readme, so you directly made it into the game fix to avoid any complaining.

If you mean the package linked at "Archivo de arreglos para los juegos de Hugopocked" panel, FF7 fix is not present there (that's why I got it from another place), Fighting Force 2 is the only game fix on F letter.

I have a report from a friend about Castlevania SoTN patch. He sent me a video that shows a video/audio stutter at every room change.
It is the normal behavior of the patch?

I didn't even knew Castlevania needed a patch. Last year my sister played it (USA version, finished at 200.3%) through POPS (from USB) and never had a single problem, it worked perfectly as from the original disc.

It does have some crashes, let's see in some specific rooms what users reported to me when entered and exited several times I checked it myself and it's true, Also when using the special power of the Weapon that allows you to use the ability or power of the shields when changing the shield several times and using the different abilities the game will will hang, also the USA/Europe version had more of these problems, the Japanese ones very absent of these problems but he still has them, I force the game to recompile all the game code on each load of anything so that it will get rid of crashes, the inconvenience is that an audio drop of milliseconds occurs before the update of the recompilation, shouldn't bother as it happens only on load and not when playing.

Ah ok, good to know.
What about the FF7 patch not being into the package?

I hope this month to finally be able to release everything on the elotrolado page, I will comment here notifying the update of the rar packaging of updated fixes also new compatibility modes among other useful things.

Regards!

I tested a good while FF7 (from USB device) and it seems to never crash. Possibly this game doesn't have crashing/freezing problems on POPS.

I read on the other forum you're also planning to look into FF8, it'd be great if you manage to fix it.

About FF9 instead, there's a Quina's blue magic that makes the game to freeze (everything else works perfectly in my experience). Maybe it'd be simple to patch. Let me know in case you'd find the time to check it, I can give you a CD3 savegame so you can test the issue right away. With this problem solved FF9 should be 100% playable (Also using the $NOPAL cheat, everything is perfect in this game).

I'm thinking of opening a new thread here in the emulation section about hugopocked fixes for Popstarter, but I'm too lazy to do it XD

Well FF7 does not have crashes, it only has them in the Popstarter when a hack is applied, and when a retranslation is applied, I corrected that, let me see if by the time i update the main rar build i will have removed the save enabled in that game.

About FF9 I play the (Europe-Spanish) version, If you saved is from that version, send it to me, otherwise I will have to hack the game to unlock all the attacks and try.

Regards!

Perhaps the save will work also with the spanish version. I sent you a P.M.
