PS4 Are there any issues with replacing my PS4's Blu-Ray drive I should know?

My PS4 Pro is having issues reading disks, I can hear it constantly trying to align the disk or something and failing, if I whack it a few times it will work until I turn it off again.

Rather than turning my PS4 Pro into a percussion instrument, I think it would be better to finally replace the drive. There are plenty of guides and YouTube videos on how to do it (Good God what a mess! I need to take the ENTIRE thing apart, even to the point of replacing the thermal paste?) but I am trying to look up if there are any other issues or problems with swapping out the drive that I can't find any confirmation of.

Are there any problems that replacing the drive would cause? Such as it no longer being able to play Blu-Ray movies or something? I think I recall something about the Blu-Ray drive having to be "married" to the system or something? Or will everything work just fine when the drive is swapped out?

What about anything I should watch out for when getting the replacement drive? Can there be multiple models and I have to somehow find out what my PS4 needs? Are there fakes or something and there are recommended places to look for a replacement?

I think I discussed this with LM and al azif several months ago. based on what I remember, you can't remarry the drive. you may be able to swap out certain parts, but swapping out drives is currently impossible afaik. I read somewhere that even sony doesn't do it. they'll just send you back a refurbished unit. I think that's why they have the nobd hen updates...because you can't remarry. some people have been stuck on the same firmware for years because of it, and they were hoping PPPwn would open the door for more firmwares to have a nobd alternative. you may be able to replace the laser, if that's the problem, or the motor perhaps, but I'm not really sure about it.
