PS3 HAN Are you able to get Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas to work with HAN???

Method for BLES01475 (this is the spanish version but i think that it will be the same for the BLUS30888 version).

- Get a fresh backup of the game and the update 1.06 of the regular version (the update for BLES01475 must to be BLES00905 1.06, for BLUS30888 it should be BLUS30500 1.06).

- Unpack the update PKG and replace the EBOOT of the game folder with the update one.

- Edit the PARAM.SFO of the game folder and change the Title ID with the one of the update (in this case write BLES00905), change 'PS3 System' to 4.46 and 'Version' and 'App Ver' to 1.06. Save changes and overwrite.

- Convert it using PS3GameConvert (when asks for a game update click 'yes' and select the PKG update) -maybe works with CFW2OFW Helper too i dunno-.

- Once converted use Make PKG to convert to PKG and install with Debug packages enabled in this order (game PKG, patch PKG, LIC PKG).

- Enjoy!

I got this method thanks to a Youtube video, i dunno if i can put the links here so by the moment i wont put them (the video is in Spanish).

Thanks to @zarebcn, finally!

Nice to see decent instructions for a change. We've been deciphering weird text but now someone finally made clear this puzzle from hell, probably by goblins overusing Google Translate:
YOU MUST TAKE THE UPDATE 1.06 OF 292 MB, take the EBOOT OF THE FOLDER "UISDIR" IN THE UPDATE, AND REPLACE BY THE EBOOT OF THE GAME, EDIT THE PARAM.SFO BY THE UPDATED VERSION OF YOUR LANGUAGE.
UPDATE PAGE: https://store.brewology.com/updates.php?letters=def CHANGE THE VERSION TO 1.06 AND REPLACE THE PARAM.SFO
Your translating that Spanish video for us gave me now an idea how the other 'Exclusive Methods' in
bad Engrish are supposed to mean about swapping eboots with another game ID's update, editing SFOs, and all... hoooooboy whew!

Now we just wait for NV fans to test their converts..

I'm going to test with CFW2OFW and Game Convert I should be done in less than an hour hopefully.

I received the insert disc error as is the norm with new vegas installs. What is "debug packages enabled" is this something available to HAN users as well? This is the only step I skipped because I'm not sure I have this ability.

EDIT: I have located the debug package enabler and am going to attempt again

Update: When I enabled debug package enabler through PS3 Han, I can no longer download packages through PKG Linker. Is this a known issue? Or am I making a mistake somewhere?

EDIT: I have found this error "80029567 Signing check failed, HAN Enabler not ran or debug installer ran by mistake or pkg not resigned" listed under the pkglinker 2.0 thread. This is the exact error I am receiving and based on this post it appears you are NOT supposed to enable debug packages before using pkglinker, so I must ask how can I install through pkg linker while debug is enabled? If the instructions say to enable debug packages but then enabling them stops me from installing entirely I'm not sure how to proceed.

Don't use cfw2ofw, use ps3gameconvert && make sure to resign the packages. I myself didn't enable debug pkg, I just resign the packages and install them. Make sure you get the param.sfo right so the eboot will work. I was going to uninstall FNV and try again but I don't want to risk running into problems again lol.. My ps3 is down to it's last 10gb of space, and even my computers HDD is getting pretty low lmao. I need an external HDD. For the record, I'm on HAN 4.82. With a trusty CECH3001A that I've had for roughly 8 years now. (still runs perfect to this day lmao, praise the sun.)

you dont need to sign the packages from a converted game atleast i dont sign them, just enable HAN for download and install the package list>reboot>enable Debug package installer and install the packages (dont sign them)

That's true. I myself just do it so I can load up the games normally without needing to enable HAN or debug pkg. Digital games I still have to enable HAN, but cfw2ofw converts will run without it if you resign them.

for playing digital games you always need to enable HAN but cfw2ofw games dont need to enable HAN even if you dont sign them, i always do it in this way and zero issues to this day

im going to share the tutorial video links, if mods think that is not allowed (i really dunno) please delete this post.

the only difference between the method that i wrote and the method of the video is that this guy uses a different Make PKG program that dont creates the LIC PKG (i dunno why)

Heck, that 'Great PS3Xploit 3.0 HAN All-in-One Guide' REALLY needs to be updated and corrected, ASAP (either by its author or the moderators for everyone's benefit) about the part on installing Debug Packages and Enable Debug Package mode to stop the confusion about signing PKGs using PS3Xploit-Resigner tool by habib.
  1. Enable HAN mode only if:
    • Installing PKGs resigned with PS3Xploit-Resigner tool by habib (aka Fake-resigned PKGs) — Usual PKG installation that need HAN enabled are:
      • PKGs of PS1, PS2, and PSP converts
      • PKGs of RAPs resigned using PS3Xploit-Resigner tool (may your soul find light)
    • Playing PS1, PS2, and PSP converts
    • Playing games installed using Official PSN PKGs (PSN re-releases of retail disc games) then activated using RAPs resigned with PS3Xploit-Resigner tool (may your soul find light)
  2. Enable Debug Package Installation mode only if:
    • Installing Debug Packages
      • Debug Packages in the PS3 context (aka Custom Packages) are PKGs made with tools like TrueAncestor_PKG_Repacker_v2.45 and make-backup-pkg
  3. Do not enable neither HAN nor Debug Package Installation mode if:

See most of my confusion comes more from how I can still use PKG Linker when debug packages are enabled, it disables package linker whenever I enable it so I think I need another solution for moving a 13 gigabyte file to my system. Other than that I've followed the instructions and I'm kind of excited about trying this new install I've prepped.

Yeah I know that lol. Don't you still need to enable debug pkg to launch unsigned cfw2ofw conversions though? Was under the impression that resigning them they will launch no matter what, even if one were to update to 4.83.

once the cfw2ofw game is installed you dont need to enable HAN for launching the game no matter if its signed or not. also enable debug package is only used for installing and is not necessary for launching games

i already explained it to you:
you need to enable HAN for installing pkg linker package list, then if your going to install signed content you will need to enable HAN too but if the content is unsigned you need to enable debug package. pkg linker allows to install content with debug package enabled but in the [xxxx] of the file has to say [debug] and not [HAN]

I don't know what you mean by "the [xxxx] of the file has to say [debug] and not [HAN] my pkgs don't look like that.

Just try without debug pkg if you're having trouble. The [debug / HAN] thing he's talking about is what comes up in brackets when attempting to install the pkg files. I'm not sure how to edit that myself. I don't think it makes a difference in terms of the "insert disc error" which I'm pretty sure comes down to there being something possibly missed while editing the SFO file, and probably nothing to do with debug being enabled or disabled.

Yeah honestly I've tried the install close to 20 times but I can say I haven't used ps3 game convert along with editing the param to say 1.06 in the version AS WELL AS the app version. That's one version of this install process I have not attempted. I do have the files prepared and ready for conversion but I'm in the middle of something else presently.
