MicroFiber cloth at the dollar store for $1.25 + $.10 tax.
Arguably better, but the Q-Tip will be easier to use.
Use a lower % alchohol. Consider diluting.
Why? All laser eyes, most notably Gamecube, oxidize. If the eye is too old and not made out of resistant material (glass vs plastic), cleaning the eye with water could cause the surface to "scrape away", permanently ruining the eye of the laser. Eyes are not sold separately.
This is a relatively new occurrence (2-3 years). I optimize all of my drives during refurbish - 1/4 have a naturally recurring error like oxidization.
Would recommend dry-cleaning Eye's on any device manufactured before 2012, and highly encourage it on anything before 2000.
