PS3 Loading Linkage Learning!

I am glad I found this forum, hopefully the knowledge I have from various repairs can help others in need, But I need some help figuring something out that baffles me.
I have a dual laser fat PS3 that we purchased used from a second hand store. It turned out to be filthy, almost started a fire from build up inside, and the system shows signs of water damage in various places. After cleaning up and reassembling, we were able to test the machine out. Connected to the home network via ethernet only (cannot find correct settings for WIFI, equipment is only 6 months old- no bid deal there). Loaded a disc and nothing happened, would not eject the disc, so I had to disassemble it. Cleaned it up, greased in a couple spots, no visual damage to the laser itself. Cleaned the laser appropriately, removed motor and made sure the laser lift mechanism operated correctly. This is where issues present themselves. It seems that the right lift arm, will not slide forward far enough to engage the Side mounted microswitch to the right of the top mounted microswitches (these are for the load motor to initiate disc intake). I believe this switch begins the ejection process? The arm linkage underneath the drive is properly positioned, and the top casing linkages line up into the appropriate slots when closing things up. So, why doesn't this arm slide forward far enough to allow the microswitch to "open" for ejecting, and also, this seems to prevent the magnetic disc holder to fully seat the top of the disc spindle.

Does anyone here have a great tutorial on this part of the drive operation? I have watched videos by Junker15, he has the most informative ones, but unfortunately, he doesn't answer my question there. Thanks and look forward to sharing information and learning more here!
