PS3 Bricked Ps3

sounds like even if the flash dump is valid, you have a failed connection under the CELL (cpu) or RSX (gpu). i would shit can that motherboard and get another one. the rest of the parts are most likely good, especially if the other parts were good before the motherboard messed up.
at least you figured out the exact cause. and i highly suggest to just get a new motherboard or console than to try and fix that one. to many unknown variables with it at this point. you would be a mad man if you try to repair it haha.

good luck

I'm with @No0bZiLLa on this one, don't spend your precious time (and money) trying to fix it. Do a full backup of your games, licenses and save files, and get another one.

Reballing is the only permanent solution, but it's too expensive and not every repair shop is up to the task.

You could try and reflow the damn thing using a heat gun, in the hopes of enforcing those broken joints but don't get high hopes with this method.

I'll try the "pennies method" myself in a couple of weeks, I'm not confident that my old console will be fixed by the repair guy I've contacted with.

just to note...

a penny isnt optimum in this situation really. it would be better to have some kind of slightly thinner, smoother, copper shim like this: https://www.amazon.com/Playstation-PS3-Copper-Heatsink-Repair-Sony/dp/B007REGGFK

really a penny is putting to much pressure imo and could cause more issues down the road possibly. if i were to do this as a "permanent fix" then i would opt to use the linked copper shims and not pennies. plus... there is more surface area with the legit copper shims for better thermal conduction
