PS3 can you change fan speed on HEN withouth WMM ?

hello, i am asking because ive been suspecting that webman mod is the cause of my random black screens when launching games (or any homebrew app) even if its memory is set to minimum or lite version is installed or setting a fixed fan speed, i even tried it on SYSCON mode and same deal nothing changed so its not fan related, i even tried sman and same deal, it even prevents me from saving on mgs4 after messing with cheatcodes from artemis with an error 80030001 (removing the plugin solves the issue)

am already using akari's plugin to monitor temps but i would like to know if theres another way to manually change fan speed that does not requiere wmm, tried irisman 4.86.2 but they dont do anything (guess thats why they were disabled afterwards on hen)

to be clear the random black screens are when opening games regardless if theyre modded or not or if artemis is active, if they're iso format or digital ones it makes no difference

this is not a jab at wmm i actually love the software for its convenience and ease of use, its just that my particular system doesnt seem to like it whenever it wants to

any help would be greatly appreciated
 
You need to start clean in your tests. First, reinstall OFW and try a bunch of games (like MGS4, for example) and verify if you're still getting random black screens.

If everything is OK, go to the next step: installing HEN only, trying the same bunch of games as before and verify for black screens.

If everything is OK, install WebMAN MOD and repeat the test.

And on and on until you start getting black screens. That way you will find the culprit.
 
so ive been messing around with HEN's debug build and socat and so i first had enabled akaris vsh fps plugin then i opened artemis selected some cheats hit start game to quit to xmb then i went ahead and tried to open the game and the xmb stopped taking controller inputs (waves were still moving) webman's web server wouldnt open on my pc and then it gave me a supposed overheating warning and the vsh plugin was showing cell and rsx at supposedly 128c each then shortly after the xmb waves froze and this was the last part of the socat output

heres another socat output same procedure but this thime webman's web server did open and i sent a reboot command but it just wen to a black screen and never shut down, had to hold down power button

removeing the files from the gameboot folder has fixed the issue, need further testing to see what else is causing my random black screens, also idk if its a placebot or not (or i have been just lucky) but it seems that the debug build of hen has been kinder to me (hasnt black screened once on me only in the scenario i just described)

EDIT:

so i tried again, same process akari's vsh plugin being on mounted an iso trough webman's xmb loaded in did a short race, quitted the game straight to xmb no problem went again to webman's xmb folder tried mounting a different iso and the xmb stopped responding to controller inputs, web server did load but took a good while, again cell and rsx supposedly at 128C, then it froze completely

the issue in this log ive had before and ive no idea why it sometimes does this when it wants to

Akari is an unfinished project (as stated by the creator) and requires a lot of memory and together with the webman mod it causes several problems such as black screens for the reason already mentioned, the same thing happens with webman+ artemis, these problems are more recurrent in HEN, for that last one option, you can use webMAN to apply the cheats instead of artemis.
On HEN the only plugin that can control the FAN is webMAN.

yeah but idk how to make wmm apply the cheats i select in artemis, i aready tried selecting the wmm plugin on artemis-select cheats from game and mode- then i select start game kicks me back to xmb-start game-hit start to write but no cheats get applied so i mustve missed a step or something aint working, i have already tried enabling the artemis toggle in wmm setup and restarting the ps3

You may see a notification when the game starts, saying that Artemis engine is enabled and press start to attach the cheats.

i did try again the wmm version of artemis but in only seems to work on some games,

tried the same game twice exact same cheats, xmb frooze for like 7 seconds then it said it had written stuff from a .txt file but they dont work,

try again but with artemis r5 plugin exact same game exact, same cheats xmb froze again this time for longer like 10-15 seconds said it had written successfully and they cheats were now working

further testing is required but it seems the artemis implementation of wmm doesnt work with some games/cheat types
