I'm running an old CECHL model PS3 that I finally dug out, updated it to 4.82 OFW and hoped to do the browser exploit, but I can't use the browser at all. Page cannot be displayed 80710a06 is the only thing I can see. I assume this is because it has not signed in to the PSN for years? All it wants me to do is install a system update every time I try to connect to the PSN, which I assume I can't do. Any options for me?
This is a ssl error caused either by a ssl connection problem or by a ssl certificate verification error.
It's likely that the URL you are using cannot be used by the ps3 browser of your current firmware.
New SSL certificates are brought in with each new firmware updates, it's one of the rare things that still got updated in the past 2 or 3 years.
Personally I keep wondering why they don't just add as many compatible root certs (non-ecdsa ssl root certs) as they can like PC browser publishers do but anyway, they seem to prefer it this way, with many web sites unusable. Strange choice.
Regarding ps3xploit, the .com website doesn't use ssl so just stick to the standard http url:
** http://www.**ps3xploit.com >Doma...no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new)
As to the PS3 Toolset, it shouldn't be an issue for you, it is accessible over ssl only from a ps3 browser on firmware version 4.82+. Firmware 4.81 & below are not supported because the root cert of the ssl certificate we use was only added in firmware 4.82.
** www.** ** www.ps3xploit.net > D... (NEW URL = http://ps3toolset.com)/bgtoolset
Always use the full URL, don't omit http/https or www.
Remember to use all ps3xploit tools in a clean browser, the tool you choose to use should be the first Web page loaded in that browser session. You should never browse to the tools. The best way to go about it is to set the homepage as blank & add the various tools in the browser favourites.
You can then open the browser & launch the tool of your choice from favourites.
