PS2 Can't Get Component Video to Work

When all 3 video cables are plugged in, I just get either a blank screen or that pink screen. Though I still get audio and it does state the resolution and framrate of the signal. Nothing changes if I unplug the red or blue, but as soon as I unplug the green, even the audio stops and I just get the "no signal" screen.

Is there any change when you swap the blue with red? I think it is a TV input issue, assuming the cables and console are working correctly (proven by plugging to the other TV) and the TV settings are right.

No nothing changes when I do anything with the blue or red. The only thing that changes anything is when I unplug green, then I just get no signal.

Have you tried another device that outputs component video on these TVs? Maybe that would help you determine if the PS2 is somehow the issue or if it's the TV. They do make Component cables for the SNES and Sega Genesis. Or maybe try a PS3 with the video output set to 480i.

Don't have any other devices to try on it. Only the 2 PS2s.

have you tried to update your tv firmware? Maybe the tv doesn't accept sub hd signals.

Also, keep pressing the p2/p3 connector, they're pretty shit in general. If you mess around it a bit, maybe you'll got the signal...

tip2: get your ps2 to a friend's house, see if cables or ps2 is somewhat damaged. Maybe a friend (or grandma) with a crt tv.

Tip 3 is to look for a hdmi adapter, some of them are pretty good for the ps2, and cheap.
