Hey,
I obtained a CECHA12 console which I have now JB'd with Rebug 4.82. I de-lidded it but in the process of doing that, I scratched a bit of the CPU. I also managed to take out a 17Ohm resistor (between the CPU and GPU), which I ended up soldering back on using small jump wires. The console hadn't been opened prior.
The console boots up as I'd expect, PS3 games play, PS1 games play. Tried playing a PS2 game (either by DVD or ISO) and I get a solid green screen, but I can still enter the In-game PS3 menu. I also tried forcing PS2 Software emulation and I still get a solid green screen, no sound, nothing.
I have performed an OS downgrade as well, but no change. I suspect I've damaged hardware in the process of de-lidding but that doesn't answer 1. Why it won't work even in software emulation mode and 2. other than the PS3 CPU, I haven't done anything else and I would expect the PS3 part of the console to screw up.
Its a weird one, any ideas?
