bought myself ps3 fat because i absolutely love this exact old piece of tech. installed cfw and then took console to a friend of mine who changed thermal pads, thermal paste and cleaned the dust (he used to deal with fats before)
everything seems okay, started my new playthrough of gran turismo 4 (on my old ps2 disc via backwards compatibility). system was quiet at first, but after a while it suddenly bleeped a couple a times, red and yellow light flashed once and it really fastly turned into the jet engine. i got really scared because i thought its started overheating rapidly and i turned it off
next day again — the same story, but now after finishing a few races, i returned to xmb (since i couldnt use select+start to see temperatures) and temps surprisingly were quite low (53° cell and 49° gsx) and fan was like 60-65%, but very quickly got back to slower percentage like 25-30%. usual idling temperatures are 68° for cell and 59-61° for rsx in my case
i just dont understand, why is it like this? could you please explain logic behind this? as far as i know (and googled), webman cant control fans if ps2 game is not mounted and launched from ps2iso, but whats going on then? is it okay?
