Hi all, I'm new here but would like a bit of help please...
I recently bought a slim ps3 off ebay and decided to flash it.
It was supposed to be a straightforward procedure... Go to Bguervilles site, check everything is compatible, dump flash, save flash. Write new flash, everything good. Perfect!
Next step, install Rebug CFW 4.86... Here lies the first problem, I got stuck in an update loop. I spent ages reading this forum and trying various different things, nothing was working.
It turns out that my wifi module is dead, I already had a hunch this was the case but never realised it would cause the update to fail... Nice one Sony.
I downloaded Rebug noBT and flashed that, brilliant it works. I installed Managunz, Rebug toolbox and Modman. I copied over Assassins Creed Black Flag into the games folder. Started it up and... nothing. It returned to the XMB. So hit the second problem.
I have no idea why it doesn't start and I've searched long and hard for the answer. Are there any settings in rebug toolbox I can change that will make it start? And what the reason might be for it to do this?
What I tried was using Managunz to create an ISO from the game folder and that didn't work, I patched the EBOOT, resigned keys or something and that didn't work either.
I read that webMAN was better for loading games so installed that... Roll on problem number 3.
Whenever I go to enter webMAN setup nothing comes up on the browser page at all. I can't change any settings nor load a game. I always get "webmAN isn't ready" message. I also can't uninstall it as I get the same message. My thinking is that because I have the NoBT firmware that it's causing issues looking for drivers that aren't there perhaps.
On the Brewology page for webMAN it says it has support for CEX 4.86.1 with COBRA disabled, so I tried disabling COBRA and that just made the PS3 crash at next boot. I managed to get it back on and re-enabled COBRA.
Is there any way to either uninstall webMAN or get it to work?
Thanks for reading
