@mrjaredbeta kozarov told me that person who wrote on the list didn't know how to make the champ show up:https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps2/1...s/53463-how-do-i-beat-the-new-york-city-champ
I really doubt that is real issueIf anyone has a save file when City Champ is supposed to be there, please send. It is probably a fixable FPU accuracy problem.
No one ever dumped config from that game, what kind of issues it have?
Edit: If you mean description from wiki, then maybe someone just wasn't aware how to...

I'm pretty unfamiliar with the game. If there's a cutscene that shows him appear, then theoretically he should be there racing around, rkght? Idk, it could be either.I really doubt that is real issue![]()
Maybe that's why they took it off the storeTo be honest i'm also not familiar with it. But i found it weird that even PS2 classic have this "issue". Specially that official pkg don't have any config afaik.

@Major_Pothead92 Did you manage to play to that point yourself and are you absolutely sure city champ should be appearing?
Actually, just found this: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps2/197935-midnight-club-street-racing/faqs/10048Yes. Tried 2 separate times a while back and he never showed up. Played this game a good bit back in the day. Here's my save, either slot should work. All other racers in NY are defeated.

Scroll down to "12 MPH: The New York Champ." It seems the glitch is in the game itself! There is no information on how or why it happens, only that you have to restart your progress. Turns out it is emulating the game correctly then...unfortunately.![]()
Yes, doesn't seem to be anything fixable this way. It's a weird bug for sure.Have u tested the save?

Didn't show up on PS3, didn't show up on PCSX2. I didn't try on my PS2 but I highly doubt it would work.on ur save did he show up?
by the way when u fix a game how do u discover the issue?i know on psx2 there is a issue report ,but on ps3 there is no way.

P.S. Sims Bustin' Out I ran into a random softlock / freeze early in story mode — it's listed as playable on the compatibility list. Think the save is still on my system, it was early in story mode though.
PAL version will randomly freeze or hard crash the PS3 if you Turn the smoothing on.
No, that's not what I meant. The SSX was developed with a Dreamcast in mind. They had to port the game to a different platform as fast as possible, after EA abandoned support for the Dreamcast.
We can find similar bugs in games which share the same engine, not games released same year. But games released on the early PS2's lifespan could be more buggy programmed due to the lack of the hardware knowledge. And more prone to crashing during the emulation.
According to the wiki:
If it is true, then there is a config command to disable smoothing if I remember correctly (Valkyrie Profile 2 does use it).
Hm, can't say it is unfixable until we know for sure. A couple of the freezes (hold backwards, Elysium Alps before jump) are completely gone, so a couple more shouldn't be the end of the world. I honestly just haven't had a lot of time to look into the current progress we made and figuring out what to do next, so I hope I can have a lot of free time one of these days to test and get to the bottom of it.Thanks for the reply.
Hmm .. that strenghtens the point that SSX is one of the unfixable games.
Sorry for late reply, but that early config doesn't work because the blur effect will return after going into a building, like you had mentioned in an earlier post(and also it doesn't keep the transitions).@HeidenNaugler You can try the config posted earlier that disables both blur and shadows. I guarantee that it will be fixed since shadows had a huge performance impact on pcsx2.
