PS3 Compatibility List - PS2 on PS3

I dont know about you, but my 480i picture on 55inch Sony LED TV is unbearable. I cant see clearly writings, words, hud. I am just thinking how can this be improved. Any suggestions? Thanks

i don't like the ps3's upscaler, but if your tv one is that bad you could try turning it on in game settings. it will upscale 480/576i content to 720p, it may look better depending on your tv

PS4 configs can't work on PS3. However, the PS3 config is similar. You can find all configs on this database that @aldostools regularly updates: http://ps3.aldostools.org/ps2config.html

The config for Steambot Chronicles removes the blur as well as fixes a bugged cutscene that prohibits progression. The game itself runs great, and the frame rate is better than PS2 in some areas. I have played a good chunk of the story and have not completed the game, but I can confirm game runs very well and enjoyably. :)

Mr Jared u are the man! Thank you! What about PCSX2? Is the performance and rate even better there? Does config for pcsx2 steambot differ from ps3 cofing as well?

Took a break from Drakengard to work on something else:

Gitaroo Man (SLUS-20294) Experimental Config
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 0A 00 00 00 01 00 00 00
60 33 1C 00 09 F8 20 03 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
Fixes *all* freezes and *most* of the severe graphical glitches. Still some glitches/flashing...so I will say EPILEPSY WARNING for anyone with epilepsy or are prone to seizures. It's not too bad, and the game itself is flashy like that in general, but saying it just in case.

If anyone tried my previous config, you would know it was a very janky mess that ultimately went around the problem by disabling random stuff. You can read a little description about it here: https://www.psx-place.com/threads/compatibility-list-ps2-on-ps3.1306/page-172#post-281726

With this new config, I got past the very problematic title screen, played the training stage, got past the next previously problematic screen, and fully completed the second stage without any freezing issues (which I have previously never been able to do with any config), and successfully saved and entered next stage without any issue.

Through a lot of trial and error, I have found the function causing the lockups and *most* of the graphical glitches. This function (at 001C31C0) is responsible for syncing something (different elements/data drawn to screen?)...which seems to be a glaring issue with netemu. I am pretty happy about this discovery because:

1.) I abandoned/gave up on this game a while ago and decided to look back at it more closely out of the blue. I am happy I did.
2.) This can potentially lead to fixes for other games with similar problems (Melty Blood games, Street Fighter EX3, Jet de Go! 2, Tenchu, and many others). Not 100% sure all of these games all share this problem, but it seems that it could be possible.

Still not a perfect fix yet, but I am glad I got to the bottom of it. I will look into this more tomorrow to see if the graphical glitches can be remedied without this function.

Try guess, from that forum :glee::glee::glee:
many pages ago some guy try fix MK and post that config, he say its almost fix graphic but game still slowdown, but noone respond to him! So i try that config and it look more better then without config!

Hey that's me
I tried to make a config without much experience and without using a ps2 emulation debbuger. could been better honestly.
Tried many configurations but i couldn't find anything that fix the game without making the performance worse.
A good place to test is the first boss arena were the flickering and slowdown its more notable.

I had the idea to disable graphics effects (like bloom) to make the game run better but I don't have enough knowledge to do something like that

Gitaroo Man (SLUS-20294)
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 0A 00 00 00 01 00 00 00
64 32 1C 00 16 00 00 12 16 00 00 10 00 00 00 00

Gitaroo Man (SLES-50653)
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 0A 00 00 00 01 00 00 00
64 C7 1A 00 16 00 00 12 16 00 00 10 00 00 00 00

Gitaroo-Man One (Trial Version) (SLPM-62062)
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 0A 00 00 00 01 00 00 00
80 4D 1B 00 16 00 00 12 16 00 00 10 00 00 00 00
This is a better config that stops main menu/options screen flickering completely. First stage has a somewhat large amount of flickering with 3D elements in first part of stage. The next 2 stages are almost completely glitch-free. This is the best we're gonna get without disabling some other stuff (graphical effects), so I took the liberty and ported it to other regions besides Japan (only trial version cause of donut game). I only tested SLUS, but other versions should work the same. PAL could have less flickering...I don't have time to test though.

Drakengard (SLUS-20732) WIP
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 0A 00 00 00 02 00 00 00
08 89 2C 00 B2 F9 0A 0C 00 00 00 00 0C 75 2E 00
AB 9E 0B 0C 00 00 00 00 21 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
00 00 00 00
Disables font effects (glow and shadows) to fix flickering on chapter and mission intro screens. There's still some more work to be done on this one though.
