Connecting to WPA2-Enterprise wi-fi security on 4.87 HEN

I tried connecting to WPA2-Enterprise wi-fi security in my school, but I cannot as it says that it is unsupported. Is there any way to connect to it with 4.87 HEN?

ps3 works with WPA2 (my phone's hotspot is WPA2 only). maybe your school is blocking game consoles. you can ask someone who works in the school about it.

I think wpa-2 enterprise is different. my router can do wpa/wpa 2 or wpa/wpa 2 enterprise (separate security). I don't know what school you go to, but when I was going to OU, there was an ethernet port in every dorm room, affixed to the wall. there would be a desk in front of it for your computer. I'd say try to use an ethernet cable if you can't use wifi (if your school is the same). it will bypass the wifi security.

I just recently changed my dual-band's 2.4GHz band to auto for wpa/wpa2 in order to connect everything (including psp, which is what I was wanting to hook up). the only thing I can't hook up is the ds, since it uses wep. my router can't do wep nor can my phone's hotspot (only wpa-2 like @Coro 's). it's a 5G phone too, so maybe that security is just too outdated for modern phones. wep is very bad security anyway, but I could connect the ds to my phone if I had the hotspot have no security, then hide the ssid. that's the only thing I can think of to do, but I don't know if I want to risk that.

if it's not supported on ps3 you can connect through your phone or laptop then use them to share the internet to the ps3. i assume that will work

You could connect on a laptop over wifi, then share that connection over the laptops ethernet to the PS3, bridging the adaptors is one way to do that.

I inadvertently mentioned the method everyone else has mentioned except I didn't think about it. a hotspot may be your best option, one with your phone. it will turn off wifi on the phone during the session, but don't worry. you can turn it off at any time. as I mentioned, wpa2 is the only option that my phone does, and the ps3 can do wpa/wpa2 (think that's actually the option) for it. I know every system I changed has had both as a selectable option except for the wii u, which has wpa aes, wpa tkip, wpa 2 aes,, and wpa 2 tkip (all four are separate options).

edit: btw, that's what I used with my psp, a hotspot with my phone, before I got a new phone and router.

actually newer android hotspots can share internet from a wifi connection instead of the phone's data connection. under hotspot settings it is called something like "share via connected wifi". you connect to the wifi on phone then start the hotspot with option. then both phone and connected devices would be using the wifi that phone is connected to. so a newer android phone can be used instead of a computer.

I'll have to see if my phone has it. I bought it last month, and it's quite a bit different from my older phone. thanks for the info.

Coro, alright, my phone does have that option. thanks!

@Coro it's not a school thing, it's a PS3 thing. also, thanks for the "share via connected wifi", I'm glad those things exist (even though my phone doesn't have that idea despite the fact that it's few months old lol). there is an option of doing it over Bluetooth, but that's too draining on the battery and there is a better alternative (more about that later).
@DeViL303 good idea! it's just that my laptop doesn't have an ethernet port.
@pinky i thought about using the ethernet, however, the only ethernet port is in the living room, so that solution doesn't really work ahah. phone hotspot doesn't work because i dont have unlimited data and i cannot hotspot the wifi from phone, but thanks for the suggestion!

overall, the most elegant solution that i found is a wifi repeater (device that's used to extend the range of your wifi) as it lets you set another security method. it's not even expensive, being around $5-$10

I would be surprised if that wifi on ps3 can still connect to modern Access Point now a days, my AP even refused to grant connection on any devices that is older than a N-draft wifi standards.

the only work around here maybe is buy a router that supports openwrt and configure it as a wifi bridge + ap setup.
