PS3 Console Total Powered On Time (WebMAN Mod 1.47.25.3+ feature)

Hey, 2 months ago I've sent my CECH-2503B console to a service for cleaning and replacing the thermal paste on it and they accidentally damaged the RSX. As a compensation they have given me yesterday an unopened (still has the warranty sticker) CECH-2004B model and when I installed custom firmware on it turned out this console has not been used for more than 18 days total, which is surprisingly low compared to the posts in this thread.
What do you guys think, how much is this console worth now if I would try to sell it?

I love the "how much is worth" mentality, please do yourself a favour and drop that, even brand new, the PlayStation3s aren't worth next to nothing, they are not considered "retro" consoles yet, at least for me, you can find PS3s for 30/50€ on a daily basis, sometimes you even can get luckier with a sub 25€ in working conditions, the models which are really sought after are the original Backwards-Compatible Models (CECHA/B/C/E) only because they can play PlayStation2 Software Format, via Original Hardware and Disc, something the preceding models have that removed, but they require a few modifications to keep them running, as in stock form they are 99% prone to failure, and that model you have is not one of the best PlayStation3s model out there, like the old Phats, the 2000 Series Slims are also prone to failure if they aren't kept in good conditions, so don't go trigger happy because it looks brand new, abuse it and you'll loose it.

All right, thanks for the info, I just wanted to make sure I won't harm the quality of something that might be more valuable for others than me before I put additional usage time on it, because I would have been fine with a model that has been running for over 200 days even, but then I won't worry about it if it makes no difference. I'm not a re-seller or anything, been using my previous console for a long time before the repairer broke it.

Thanks, I would have been fine with another model if it's rare before I put another 400h in it, but if it isn't so, then I just keep it.
Its totally possible it might sell for more than the average one on ebay especially since people are usually willing to spend a bit more on a console with a very detailed usage history I'm just saying don't hold your breath for a massive sum.

I thought the improper shutdowns would be way higher than this considering this PS3 is the one of my 4 that has a split personality and does whatever the hell it pleases... and most of them are from the last 2 years lol...

CECH4003A to be posted when I install HEN on it as its still un-xploited atm.

Thought I would post an update on this console as its the main one of my 5 I use and this thread is about longest running models. It's now at this:

CECH2003A Run Time 2.png

CECH2003A Update @VTSTech from 560 days on the post I quoted above. Still on only 56 improper shutdowns and no hardware issues.

I will post the CECHA00 I just got from Japan when I get around to jailbreaking it as I have not used it yet and its still in it's box but holy crap it looks brand new, even the OG box looks brand new, plus the controller looks brand new.. think I might have hit the jackpot with this CECHA.

Was bought a few days ago. The seller literally pulled the plug off after we tested it. It seems that he was doing it on regular basis... :disgust:
Working flawless so far, HDD wasn't damaged neither.

And here's another one. Previous owner used it for Netflix and GT6. Air intakes were clogged up with cat fur but it wasn't overheating while I tested it.

Other than the HDD I don't think there's really any risk to the console from pulling the plug.
Almost 9000 hours and still going strong, the 45/40nm units really are bulletproof.

Yes there is, your basically crashing the CELL doing that when its in the middle of processes with data in the caches. Its not good long term to do this, or even short term really. It's one of the reasons all computers have a "shutdown" procedure to safely power down the device and end all processes running to avoid data corruption.

It's defo not good for the HDD.

Any PS3 can reach this, or more, as long as its looked after.

CECH2003A = 14,040 hours abuse and no issues.
CECH4003A= 9,072 hours abuse and no issues.

There are a few on here that are older, eg PHAT's, with more usage and still going strong, if you don't look after them they won't last no matter whats inside them.

Good to know, I usually shut my devices down normally anyway.

"Air intakes were clogged up with cat fur but it wasn't overheating while I tested it."
That's kinda my point, it clearly wasn't looked after and yet its still going strong.

Well seems I may have hit the jackpot when I won this A01.

CechA01 November 2006(no proper datecode) unknown repairs. rsx delid by previous owner, cell delid by myself. Possible flux residue by the cpu and gpu. So maybe reballed or reflowed.

Post yours. I'll maintain a list of the longest running consoles per model if there is enough data. If you have had any hardware failures/replaced parts mention it. Ideally, I want to see what the longest average time a console runs, without failure.

Once there is 3-4 submissions or more per model I can produce those stats.

Had my slim since it came out and still working
Got the super slim release date and is still working

Considering this info is stored within CELL BE (according to sandungas speculations), are reballed consoles going to show wrong numbers?
Anyone with a reballed CELL BE in here?
