PS3 Corrupted ps3 slim help

Hey fellas and filets. A while ago my ps3 slim was killed from leaving automatic update on with evilnat 4.89. It doesn't boot up normally but it does boot into safe mode. Can I revive the console using safe mode or is it now a fancy door stop. I'm not very experienced with this stuff. Tia

Try updating using Evilnat 4.89 or above.

If the CFW update PUP returns an error, try using the OFW update PUP. Best case scenario, you will get your console up and running but then you will have to do the jailbreak again in order to install CFW.

Go with the first step.

Should I get the update file from evilnats mega file?

Disregard last reply. I tried installing the evilnat beta9 pup file but it came up with " the data is corrupted.(8002f2c5)". I will try the ofw pup file then get back to you
Edit.
Ofw worked. Greatly appreciated

yeah, it must've installed the latest ofw at the time. the automatic update feature has several options, some of which are for psn+ only, such as automatically syncing trophies and saves. it's like windows where you have to set non active hours for it to turn on then sync or download the latest updates (in two hour increments). I'm not 100% sure if it installs automatically, but it will download during those non peak hours. that's also when it downloads or continues downloading content from the ps store, because iirc, it won't download while in game. I guess there's not enough memory available or something. anyway, downloading the latest update doesn't need psn+. while it may not install automatically, it may force you to, if an update is downloaded, unless you format the hdd.
