You forgot the unofficial HFW releases that always seem to cause issue.

This time around, I will most likely release at the same time the file explorer tool I have been working on in my Toolset.
It might not be fully featured for everyone as I intend to give all features as a special privilege to donators whose financial contributions have helped keep the PS3 Toolset online for everyone else.. as well as the ps3xploit site..
However all users will be able to use it to replace the silk_webkit.sprx file on OFW and will no longer need any HFW..

Like esc0 & Joonie already explained, the main problem is the nasty undocumented hard coded stack frame still used in HEN.
Things would be extremely simple if that stuff was fully removed from the project and rewritten properly..

A new HEN installer has already been written at my end a long time ago, it was never released because the stack frame stuff needs rewritten also and I have never had time to do it.


Also, I have a different lv2 syscall exploit ready and intend to release that in the Toolset to install minimal lv2 peek and poke as well as custom self execution so HEN maintenance would no longer require the stack frame crap at all and devs could just focus on the HEN payload along with a self or sprx HEN installer instead.. but I haven't been able to work for many months and all this remained on the back burner.

So what happens when they stop updating Blu-ray keys, is this possible for community to add new keys as long as Blu-ray discs are released?

Just to clarify my current plans for file explorer full features special privileges.
It's not set in stone yet, there could be slight modifications to these plans.

All Paypal donators to the Toolset project from 2021 until now, no matter the donation amount, will automatically be added to the list of privileged users and the donators email used for PayPal donation will be sent an invite to register.

New donators making a contribution after the new Toolset version gets released (still no ETA for the time being) will however be required to donate a minimum of 20 bucks to get invited..

Only donations made to the [email protected] PayPal account will be invited, donators to the ps3xploit PP account for HEN will not be included.

No donator names or email address will ever be divulged to anyone.

There is no plan currently to provide test links to anyone until the release is done, except possibly for a few well known community devs & trusted contributors who may potentially ask for it..

I take the opportunity to remind everyone that the hosting renewal for 3 years is up this summer and new donations are desperately needed until then to meet those costs which have gone up. Cloudflare features also will need to be paid to the tune of 400 bucks for the same duration.
We will require a minimum of about a thousand bucks of donations by the summer...

Given the fact the Toolset hosting services provide hosting also for nopsn.org and ps3xploit me, I leave it to all users including HEN users and ps3xploit.me site users too to take their responsibilities and help us raise the target amount necessary for renewals through the toolset PP account ([email protected]) as I will be unable to contribute a single cent from my own pocket due to the fact that I have been ill for many months and consequently broke..

I think for people who want to access ps3toolset are required to pay some bucks, it is quite worth it, rather than them having to use hardware flasher.

@STLcardsWS I seen you crossed off HFW from OP, but I think an HFW should still be made for 4.92, and maybe future versions, simply for an alternate (legacy) option that can be done offline.

I talked to @Joonie a bit about HFW (so he could show me how to build it...again :-p), before the PS3 Toolset post about it, but IMO we should still have HFW for at least one more version, or offer it as an alternate option.
