PS3HEN Could this be a hfw solution for PS3

Couldn't Devs get the old hfw and incorporate the ps3 update list into it so it automatically goes into the root directory and maybe webman mod incorporated into the firmware so you can just install the new hfw and go online with these things added it should work

If the Devs figure this out then you could make the new hfw pretty quick possibly?

I'm not a developer but thought this could still be doable

All you would be practically doing is adding update list and webman mod to the old hfw meaning hen wouldn't need to be changed its just a slightly edited version of 4.88 hfw​

We cannot remove, modify or add new files to the update file, we can only replace small pieces of firmware with the same ones from other official firmwares, otherwise it will break the sony signature and an unmodified system will not allow it to be installed

can the hen be modified to add these files then? That's not made by Sony so might work

HEN could add files...but HFW has to be installed first so it is pointless.

eventually, bgtoolset will be used to make OFW into HFW and install HEN at the same time. someday...

You can use hfw 4.88 still if you just add them files to hen and get them working.

Because hen modified this way would spoof the 4.88 as 4.89

All the hen needs to do that's new is move update list file to root directory and install webman mod to recognise the txt file. Then your online.

Official PS3HEN will never do that. Any 3rd parties are welcome to try stuff out.

but some people do not want to use webman. plus you have to put full webman into hen pkg, so download size of hen would double. any time you reinstalled hen - webman would be downgraded. it is possible but not ideal.

Hello master @esc0rtd3w, I see 4.89 Remote Play (under Network column) there is a bug, will the new HEN later fix that part?
