Debug settings on HEN?

is it debug? i thought it was dex. on joonies github it mentions dex hfw and dex dbhfw but these are not listed on ps3xploit github.

These are for DEBUG Units DECH (DEX) AFAIK or maybe could be used on CFW PS3's that have been converted to DEX but am not too sure about that bit as I have no real interest in using PS3HEN when I have 2 CFW PS3's and a proper DECH DEBUG (DEX) PS3.... You are using a CECH (CEX) Retail Unit. Its something I could install on my DECH4000 DEBUG unit but not my CECH4003A retail unit.

PS3 HEN has a debug version for devs that works on CEX, as not everyone has a DECH DEBUG (DEX) PS3, but that does not mean its converting the PS3 from CEX to DEX.
 
yeah, a cex dump on rebug is almost identical to a dex dump, aside from a small section in the middle. I've actually been dumping cex on to my computer and making a dex dump from that. you do need your eid_root_key in order to create a dex dump, just like with rebug toolbox. if it's missing, you'll end up extracting five or six bin files from the dump.

One way to do this is to install the debug settings. Unlock all the trophies you want to unlock. Then install HFW and HEN again and they will remain unlocked. Not perfect but its better than nothing.

To make things a little simpler, Here is a pkg that will install the Debug settings inc trophy unlock options. Just enable HEN and install this then reboot.

Download: 4.84.2 HFW Debug Settings PKG

Note that once this is installed HEN enabler will freeze the console as you will be running a DEX VSH and you will get kicked to recovery when you exit applications. Therefore this is only really useful for unlocking trophies. Then your only way back out of this is to reinstall HFW and then HEN. It only takes a few minutes now with the new easy installer methods.

FYI trophies unlocked with the DEX debug options can not be synced with PSN. This is just the way DEX settings work, nothing you can do. There is a plugin that unlocks all trophies when you first run a game that might be a better option.

Use it at your own risk, I have not tried it. It could be a CID stealer for all i know.

From Nick1312 on Youtube (LINK):
1. Download the Trophy SPRX-Unlocker (attached)
2. Put the whole Trophy-Folder you will download on your USB
3. Plug it into your PS3, and then load up multiMAN while signed out of PSN.
4. Put the stuff thats in TMP folder on your USB on the PS3root, then dev_hdd0 then tmp!
5. Put the stuff thats in the USB folder " dev_hdd0" in dev_hdd0 on ps3root.

Once that is done, quit multiMAN! Now you will need to load up the Game that you want to do Platinum on, can be any game. I choose MW2! When you are at the main menu press PS-Button! When pressed PS-Button, you will press "R1-O" and then you will se "Trophy SPRX" at the top on the right on your screen. When thats done, press PS-Button again, then wait 10seconds and press SELECT. Now you will go into "Campaign" and start game there. Now you will just wait n wait, and you will keep earning Trophys. Just wait until its done, and then you will Sync your Trophys on ONLINE mode.

EDIT: For convenience I made a pkg that installs the trophy unlocker. This installs the required files and a boot_plugins.txt with just webman and the trophy unlocker sprx. If you need other plugins running like psnpatch then remake your boot_plugins.txt after installing the pkg. Make sure to include this line:

I have tested this trophy unlocker on HEN with GT6 and it works perfectly.

Note: you just need the pkg on its own, the zip is for manual install.

If people really want to cheat with unlocking trophies then use "Trophy is Good", at least then you can add a "reasonable" time/ date stamp to each trophy so it doesn't blatantly look hacked if synced. It might take a little longer but is the better option if people really wanted to cheat this way.

If people people do this then its best to manually add each time stamp as the auto will add stamps that could be before the game was even released and syncing them is a very bad idea if they are.
