Basically, what the eraser mod tries to mimic? Surprised there arent cheap chinese clones or something yet. Or maybe one can be scanned so people could 3D print it?
I have tested the Sony offical mod and it doesn't work as well as the eraser mod.
I have never had a problem with the eraser mod, I do however use thermal pads to create the mod and its never failed me yet!
Could I ask what thickness you used, and how if the metal plate was hard to screw back on due to the thermal pads sticking out?
I used an eraser of 3mm thickness and I'm unsure if I'm comfortable with how much pressure was going onto the eraser when I screwed the metal plate back onto the board. I suppose that was the whole goal of the mod (to put pressure onto the CPU) but now I'm worried about the solder joints getting damaged from this pressure.
Yep, I bought them from computer booter and got them shipped over to the UK. They work very well and are safe to use.3mm can kill the PS3. It should be 1mm but you can now print replacement ones in a heatproof material, which will need to be sanded to 1mm.
I have shared the file for 3d printing before, but It got buried in the threads. I haven't tested it myself though, I don't have a 3d printer.
Do you have 3D file for the other 2 as well?I found it on Sony's official refurbished Frankenstein. If you don't have a 3D printer, you can find a local 3D printing workshop to help you make it.

Just got to made them with a 3d print service. They are 1mm thick (smaller ones) and 0.5mm the bigger ones. Aren't they a bit too thin? Maybe rip Felix doesn't really like the eraser mod?https://github.com/RIP-Felix/PS3-CPU-GPU-Bracers
Felix made them.
