PS3 Don't use Youtube as main/only source of info for Jailbreaking

also, there is the way of approaching the guy directly, instead of reporting the video. sounds like a not-cool way of handling the situation. just saying. I've followed some of his guides along with reading extra info. As a consumer it's your responsibility to get "educated" when you're trying to jailbreak/mod etc.

No, I assume you probably didn't because that youtube tutorial doesn't tell you to dump your NOR flash before you reboot your PS3

I had flash4.84hex (however it was written defaultly) and I went and dumped my ps3 to usb then that failed 1st time I refreshed page and did again then both initializing exploit and dumping 16mb was successful I then went to flash writer to USB and flash wrote it

So to sum up.

1. Your PS3 is CECH-200x which is downgrdable
2. You installed HFW twice (both ROS0 and ROS1 are showing the same OFW 4.84)
3. You failed once when attempting to dump (not flash), then refreshed the page again you managed to dump it just fine
4. you used the USB version of NOR flash writer and did it successfully
5. you just rebooted because the tutorial didn't tell you to verify after you patched your NOR dump (flashing flash_484.hex)

Ok, it is also possible that your flash_484.hex may have been corrupted, could you please send that(flash_484.hex) to my email again?

yes I will send flash but what he showed was him installing flash_4.84.hex on to usb and then he plugged it into ps3 opened internet browser cleared the options and set as a homepage for **ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new)

then he went to dump and dumped to usb and showed us the nand 2**mb dump and after that was successful he went to write flash and that was successful and he said turn ps3 off and on again and install cfw

Ok, that makes no sense, you're now telling me "NAND" (not NOR) dump was dumped.

on his video when he went to nor he said do bla bla bla
he said he will show you what to do on his nand ps3 and he showed a number in the 200s with the page

OK, I found your problem, your flash_484.hex's corrupted and if you keep using that you will brick every PS3 that you flash that.

You can thank Mr Mario for Bricking your console mate, next time, get the files from the Original PS3Xploit Website,not from shady sites like YouTube.

I am not blaming you, nor any of the lads, but you are totally right, it happens, but to end the topic there must be a cause behind this Bricking.

And i can't blame the uploader, for delivering a bad hex file, in fact ive used many times the HEX provided in the PS3Xploit website, and never had a brick, its just strange.

Well, if the file available in the ps3xploit site is working, then it's an end user problem how the file got corrupted, maybe a bad download, some failure while transferring to USB.

I'm not anyone to tell people how to do things, but in my opinion anyone that gets involved in this stuff should be careful and double or triple check everything.

Having said this, I hope @shab gets to fix his PS3 and in the future he'll be more careful (I'm not saying you weren't, but next time you'd like to double check everything and find more guides/information).

Correct me if i am wrong mate @Joonie, but doesn't the HAN Exploit use the same Flash_4.84.hex as the CFWs? I am trying to remember as i HAN exploited one on my 4000 Slims, but that was a couple of weeks ago, but i forgot if the Flash.hex was applicable to the HAN Exploit.
