PS3 Don't use Youtube as main/only source of info for Jailbreaking

Blame him all you want, it's still YOUR fault. He never touched your console. Never put a gun to your head to force you to do anything. He misused a tool on a youtube video and you followed along without thinking twice.

You can be angry at him all you want. Doesn't change the fact that it is the person actually doing the modification that is to blame on whether the end result is functional. It takes a mature, enlightened individual to be able to accept the blame for things they have done. Whether under poor advice or not.

You are welcome to take that mr mario to court and sue him, but I assure you, you'll be wasting your time.

Instead, take that energy towards something more constructive. It will only benefit you in the end to do so.

You just don't get it. Yes, the tutorial did miss out some parts, but it is ultimately your responsibility if you take a YouTube tutorial at face value; it is your responsibility for following its instructions, and it is your responsibility for not taking precautions before willingly using the information gleaned from a single video to make modifications to your console.

The information here is first hand and from the horse's mouth, so to speak. A YouTube video on PS3 jailbreaking using information from here is second hand at best. The onus is on you to take responsibility for actions you willingly took to try and jailbreak your console, so saying MrMario owes you a replacement PS3 is ludicrous. There is no warranty, implied or otherwise; what you do of your own free will to your console is your responsibility and yours alone.

Ok Im Not Saying He's Fully At Fault But

If He checked the tutorial and detailed one No One Would have been bricked

Im Sure you've seen his video


if his video was detailed like I thought it would be then I wouldn't face no issues

again if your a youtuber like most only care about the dosh they make

I don't like mr mario videos... i'm just telling you the truth. If you can't handle that, that's YOUR immaturity problem.

My playstation 3 works AMAZING...it's got cfw, it does everything it's supposed to and more.
You know what i didn't do? Follow that mr mario guide. Guess what? Profit!!
You decided to follow some half ass guide, then blame the guide for your poor choices.

I'll Enjoy My Brick While It Lasts Boom My PS3 Has Been Sent To Console Wizard To be professionally REBALLED And Thermal Paste changed it will be costly but again for your info I aint watching another YOUTUBE TUT Again

IMO the button should be in all pages of the forum... It only needs to have a list box to let the user indicate where he/she wants to post.

I'm not mad. To be honest, I don't really care all that much.

I have no need to make a video tutorial. I have no desire to. The instructions are there for those eager enough to learn and do it properly. My console works regardless of what you do or do not do to yours. Regardless of what videos you watch or do not.

18ish hours ago he posted a comment that he talked with joonie and there were a few extra steps to take.
The video wasn't redone. Just updated description and comment.

Here are some extra precautionary measures which would be recommended to take to further minimize the risk of bricking your PS3, as advised by Joonie! Install HFW twice! Recommended to do this just to mitigate further errors. If you cannot install it via XMB the first or second time, flash it via the System Update option in Safe Mode. https://support.playstation.com/s/article/PS3-Safe-Mode1?language=en_US Verify your flash_484.hex file on your flash drive! After copying it over, use a program such as WinMD5 to verify this is the correct MD5 hash of the flash_484.hex file on your flash drive. If your hex file does not match up to this hash: redownload, recopy, and retest the file! AB2B3A2E23FA731301260F5702FC4101 Verify your console is successfully patched before flashing CFW! After you have verified your flash_484.hex file and flashed it over, run the Flash Dumper once again to create a second dump.hex file. Transfer this to your PC and verify it is properly patched. This can be done by downloading the PyPS3checker tool from the Standalone Package in this GitHub repo: https://github.com/littlebalup/PyPS3tools Once the .zip is extracted, simply drag and drop your new dump.hex file onto the "drag&drop_your_dump_here.bat" file and let it verify. If the tools gives you errors or warnings in BOTH ros0 and ros1, your risk bricking your console!
