I'd like for everyone that followed his instructions and bricked their PS3 to come forward. For all we know it's 99%. I'm saying 95% in case others have bricked their PS3 using his guide.

Now even if he followed the official instructions if something goes wrong during the flash his PS3 could be toast, there is always the chance that You might brick your PS3 when flashing it.

not really in official tutorial it shows to check the files after dumping and patching if either I followed the official tutorial or mrmarios said check the file my ps3 would be fine

What background do you have in software development, i.e. programming? I believe PS3 homebrew is written in C++ (though I could be wrong), which is an advanced programming language and not something you can just learn overnight - although ironically, there are plenty YouTube tutorials on learning to code.

Look, like you said he should fix it, but he says he cant, as "youtube is not changeable" or some bolux, I bet its more about , he does not want to lose his view count on that video as it comes up as first result for me. It would be so simple to take that video, and chop in a few extra sections, I could do myself but he would probably have it taken down.

Do you not think a video which is first result for "PS3 Jailbreak", maybe not first for everyone, should at least be say maybe 55% of the official basic steps?

There is always a chance of course, even if you do the other 50% of the stuff that was left out. We have already established that if he had checked his flash hex, like official instructions tell you to, his ps3 would most likely be ok, as it was corrupted.

well im still young learning I have been a graphics designer for logos etc

I just love Technology my fathers friend used to teach me quite a lot he made a computer from scratch a moving robot etc loads of cool inventions and I prefer to not use YOUTUBE Apart from songs and vlogs
he is now mentally ill he was tooooooo clever shame hes ill he would be a perfect dev

Well, jokes aside on my part, if you're serious about learning coding (nothing at all like graphic design, which I'm personally useless at as I have zero artistic talent) then there are plenty free tutorials on various programming languages, from the fundamentals to more advanced techniques. I've done a bit of coding in my time, but not in a while and not to the degree some of the guys on here have - the homebrew and other scene related projects we see emerge are nothing short of brilliance.

I Use PC ETC I have cracked a few phones retrived ip addreses quite a lot tbh and ive tested quite a few games for companys

@MrMario2011 I will say this, when i first watched your video, I skipped to more important sections as i did not have full 28 minutes spare, so i missed the part where you linked back to here for more info at the very beginning, in this case the user should have taken that path, and read some of that info, and it might have saved the PS3 in this case.

So, while I still think your tutorial missed a lot of important checks, basically everything except minver check, I was a bit harsh on you, This thread is more about Youtube tutorials in general, you were just unlucky that yours came up in a brick scenario today. So sorry for that.

Maybe you could add forced subtitles to the current tutorial or something without taking it down and reuploading, with extra info, idk.

I didnt even know that you need to flash the 4.84 HFW twice, I only installed it once via recovery mode and install CFW afterwards, no issues on the downgrade process so far.

Im not sure if its fully understood why you need to flash twice, I know there are 2 ROS areas and all, but I dont think its known why in some rare cases it causes a problem if you dont do it twice, maybe a team member knows. Its not 50% of the time it causes issues, so its not a "the correct one needs to be active" situation. idk.
