PS3 Doubt about PS3 Backup restore

I will try the new injection method but:

1- I have some purchased games on my PS3(on various accounts), but for some motives i just can't delete them. Them i will backup them on a USB HDD Drive A

2 - After Backing up i will delete them, and everything i can to minimize the size to make a very little backup in another drive B just for injection.

My question is: i can restore my games and saves after all these process of backup and restore??

First rule: don't use system backup utility. ;)

Licences are set to specific accounts. They will not work with other so if You want all digital games be playable on one account You must find a way to activate them again (by i.e RactPSN but You need *.rap so make them before You annihilate those accounts).

Saves and trophies are also bind to specific account. You cannot merge them without very annoying decrypting and resigning them.

If I understand wrongly, and You don't want merge contents from all accounts to one, just backuping and restoring - everything will be works but You cannot use system backup utility. It will not backup all and will not restore all content. It is useless junk. Use instead file manager.

PS: And before You do what You plan, just force on the PS3 files system checking and data base rebuilding (both).

Oh man, i'm not in 3.55 party to use homebrews, but them...what's the purpose of system backup utility if it can't really backup and restore everything?

Do i really need to make 200GB backup, inject and restore everytime? Of course because i don't want ot lose these games..

Oh, so You don't have CFW? You don't need 3.55, we all using CFW 4.81/4.82. ;p Only still unhackable models are those with new boot loader (late CECH-25xx and every newer). Check >>this<<. If You afraid of loosing data made before two copies: system backup and sector by sector copy of the HDD from which You be able extract data after get working CFW.

System backup doesn't contain trophies and will not restore activation files and saves with copy protection on different PS3 model. Also user cannot choose what he want to backup. That's why for me it is junk.

If You cannot delete something from XMB is a sign of file system corruption or database corruption (rebdb You can make on OFW from recovery level). However this is not normal, You should check S.M.A.R.T of the HDD, maybe he dying and You loosing data without knowing it (but when You connect PS3 HDD to PC, don't agree to ANY modification which Windows ask (like "disk initalization"), or You will end with force format when You put it back to PS3). ;)

Man, i think you don't understand the idea.

I have a CECH-3001B 320GB PS3, so no CFW.

Every backup that i will make and restore is about the same PS3.

I can delete, but these game i just buyed the account, i don't know if the onwer changed the password, they are all running even without internet.

Of course i can just try deleting and reputing the accounts to se what happens...but i'ts too risky, better wait for Hen...or sell and turn a PC Gamer kkkkkk

If you want to keep your installed games you can make a large back up first, then do what you are saying, delete everything and then do smaller backup/restores for the injection method. Note, when you are finished injecting and want to go back to your original backup you will need to go on PSN and get your licences again, so if 4.83 is out at that time, then you would have to update to get your legit PSN games back, which would lock you out of using HEN as it will most likely be patched on next FW. I would recommend waiting for HEN , or just forgetting about your purchases after using injection method, or buy a CFW compatible PS3.

One last question: PS3 recongnizes multiple patiitons of an HDD? I purchased a 500GB 2,5' HDD, will use a usb case, will be very convenient if its possible to just partition disk.

Hi i just wanted to ask my ps3 hdd is 500 gb and 240 gb is full but when i backed up through backup utility its only backed up 183 gb and not the full 240 gb is this normal?
