I got a ps3 fat CECHL-04. console yesterday and tired to jailbreak it with ps3toolset.com but when I click ''Load patch via http''
it doesn't do anything so I go ''https://github.com/littlebalup/PyPS3tools/tree/master/PyPS3patcher'' this site and downloaded the ''nofsm_patch.bin'' file and aplied that on my console using ps3toolset.com but when I tried to reboot my console after that it didn't start up saying ''The system software cannot be run correctly''

The real problem starts from here even that I pluged in a flash drive to restore and update. my ps3 doesn't read them (I tried 3-4 flash drives) 2 of them have indicators that blinks when it's busy but They just light up and nothing more happens

I tried 4.91 4.89 4.81 (my console's version is 4.81) ofws and cfws and it cannot find any of them even noBD ones doesn't recongnized by my Ps3 any yes all of the flash drives formatted either fat32 or exfat
Recovery mode does the same thing other options tries to launch the firmware and couldn't and my flash drives still not recognized by the system

Can anyone help me about it? and sorry for my bad english if I made some mistakes here and there

guessing you've made sure to format the usb's as fat32 and stuff, I had a semi similar issue once and pulling out the hard drive and boot cycling + entering recovery a bunch of times fixed it for me. Not very helpful but the PS3 failing this early on in the reinstall process is a very weird issue, there could also be the problem of your file manager not using the correct naming format for the .PUP files? .PUP files should always be uppercase and if you're using something like linux it might not work right for some reason, I've had the problem of linux being unable to properly name files while windows does it just fine

@Erim,

Just to confirm with you: is the Bluray drive plugged in when you attempt the update/firmware installation?

Another point, a small USB drive is "prefered" (I had issues trying to use bigger size ones, nowadays I have some old ones 8GB and 16GB formated as FAT32 that works on all the consoles I attempt to fix - from very old PHAT/FAT ones to new SLIM models withouth issues)

Cheers,

M
