PS3 Downgrading without qa flags

This is for 4.89 OFW, if i enter FSM through the USB jig method or the PSP method and downgrade to 3.55 exit FSM and then upgrade to any OFW between 4.80-8 after which i use the bg toolset to patch the flash and install CFW.

Will this method work successfully

The goal of this method is to enable users to install CFW on their consoles for which the toolset hasnt been updated to support (currently 4.89 or maybe future FW for the system).

No, you cannot downgrade from 4.89 OFW to 3.55 using that method.
Check your model and wait for an updated exploit (HEN) or HFW to install a CFW.
