PS2 Dualshock 2 Starts acting up badly

My DS2 controller started to show its age, I had to press harder on the buttons for the game to respond and just wanted to clean it up in general. So I opened it up and cleaned the contacts with a WD40 Contact cleaner.

When I connected the controller the the console it started acting up in the menu and when I tried it in a game it just kept the character walking forward even if i'm not even moving the analog sticks. also it pushes buttons when i'm not even pressing them.

Is there a way that I can fix this?

Law of entropy friend, it already gave what you had to give.
If you have used a soldering iron and know how to solder, you can remove the sensor from the primary board to replace it.

No, its SCPH10010 with an A on the back.

Its the model where the board is not Soldered and I can take it apart.

Do you mean that the potentiometers are not soldered?

Also check the color of the "flex" connector. I recently read that the symptoms you are experiencing are related to this component.
If it is white it is easy to disassemble and replace it since it is not welded, if it is black it is more complicated because it has welding.
