DVD Brand Recommendations for FDVDBoot? And other things

I need others brand in case the recommended Verbatim brand fails.
It's hard to find Verbatim for me (near my house), most of what is available is the GT-PRO brand, others that I've never heard are Sony, Maxwell, Ritex.

And some other questions :
1. Does modchip make FDVD fail to boot?
I tried burning one game with DVD-R using alcohol and it goes straight to ps2 browser
2. Laptop dvd burner is not recommended?
I saw someone on FDVD GitHub with the same dvd version failed when using his laptop dvd burner, then works after using desktop-writer. What's that?

Ad1. Probably yes to all modchips which needs special task to perform to boot DVD-Video discs (like i.e button combos).

Ad2. Depend on Jitter, PIE and PIF errors levels, and also You laser condition.
