Greetings,
I have a PS3 CECH-4304C (Super Slim) that hasn't been used for years, and I remember back then it stopped detecting WiFi and the controllers only worked with cable.
Last week I turned it on, it worked perfectly (apart from the above mentioned errors). So, silly me, I went to update the firmware (if I'm not mistaken it was on 4.82), which resulted in error 8002F1F9 when reaching ~40% of installation.
The first thing I did was take out the HDD and test the sectors, and everything was flawless. So I formatted and tried to install the firmware by USB pen drive, which resulted in the same error.
After researching, I realized that the problem is probabily a faulty BT/WiFi module. During the firmware installation, the hardware is checked, and when this module is checked, it gives an error because it is probably damaged.
I then tried the HDD pop-out and re-insert method during installation before reaching 40%, with no success.
I also tried the method of "pressing" the module against the motherboard, also without success.
So I went looking for a firmware that didn't check BT/WiFi, but I realized that being CFW, I can't install it on SuperSlim, which at most only accepts HFW. HFW without BT/WiFi check do not exist (yet, i hope).
Is there any other way around this situation, or would the solution be to replace the module/MB?
