PS3 HAN Error when installing HFW 4.84.2

Hi to everyone who will read my post and thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

PS3 infos: PS3 Super Slim 500GB CECH-4004C

So, i was on 4.82 HAN installation of toolbox and 21 games worked perfectly.

recently when browsing the forum i have read a thread who talks about 4.84.2 HFW, i have updated my ps3 to 4.84 OFW i have downloaded the 4.84.2 HFW .pup file copied it to PS3->UPDATE->PS3UPDAT.PUP, plugged my 32GB usb to the correct usb port, and trying to apply the update from usb storage it correctly detect the update, copying it to 2% and sometimes it goes to 9% and always give me the following error: "Error while copying files" and give me the following error code: "80029C55". i have also tried with a 8gb usb and the same error appears.

can someone help me to solve this ?

Make sure your usb drive is formatted FAT32 MBR, not gpt
try the update from recovery
Ensure Usb is in port closest to the bluray drive
Check the MD5 of the pup file, to make sure it's not corrupt AFTER transfer to the usb.

Try FAT16 instead of FAT32

the usb is plugged at the right port near the drive

Try FAT16 instead of FAT32

hi Joonie, okay, with FAT16 exactly the same problem in normal mode and in recovery.

I can only imagine your USB is bad. try installing OFW 4.84 to see if that fails. if it doesn't then your file should be corrupted.

same error with 4.84 OFW, first try same error, but now my brain said "i have an usb hub why not try" and you know what ? IT WORKED, strange thing, now the installation is copying files, i will edit later if with the same technic i can install HFW, thank you guys !
