PS3 Error when Jailbreaking PS3

Hello everyone, i recently fixed my PS3 and i am now trying to update its CFW to the latest one (4.91 EVILNAT).

I am currently running CFW 3.55 ROGERO DOWNGRADER and when i try to install a 4.91 HFW to later install the 4.91 CFW i run into an error (8002F157). Because of that i tried updating on security mode, but it requires a version 9.99 or superior. Also, i am not able to update the console time from the internet (error 80710A06).

I have watched many tutorials but to no avail.

Does anyone know how to fix these issues?

I think you're supposed to qa flag, then install rogero 3.55. after that, install evilnat 4.91.

I am very new to the scene (started learning about 2 days ago), so i don't know much things.

Unfortunately, I don't remember how to qa flag on that downgrader. @GuilloteTesla ?

From your current status, you are on CFW 3.55 Rogero Downgrader, and want to install Evilnat's CFW 4.91 (there is no need to install HFW if your console supports CFW).

But I don't recommend you to stay on Downgrader 9.99, because it's very whimsical and tricky. So, install OFW 3.55 first, then install CFW 3.55 REBUG, and then you can install CFW 4.91 Evilnat.

There is no need to downgrade, but it's recommended to have always enabled QA flags. You can use this Toggle QA flags PKG.

One last question, all i have to do is install these updates (OFW3.55, CFW3.55 and CFW4.91)? Do i have to worry if my current CFW is CEX or DEX?

Yes, install those FW in that same order and you should be good!.

Your current FW is likely CEX, so no worries about that. In any case, if you are on DEX you'll get an error while trying to install OFW 3.55.

Hi, i just followed your instructions and i had sucessfuly instaled the 4.91 CFW. Thank you very much for the help.

Just one tip for anyone trying to follow these steps, i had to enable the System Update Debug after Toggling QA Flags to sucessfuly install any Firmware.

One last question, when i try to run any game that i had already installed on my PS3 i get the error 80010007 and when i try to open Multiman it simply doesnt open.

Your game was not dumped properly. Use ManaGunZ or IRISMAN to dump it properly or run it from the disc.

you won't have to use the downgrader anymore btw. qa flagging allows updating and downgrading with ease, as long as the firmware is the base firmware or higher. I wouldn't advise downgrading below 2.50 though, as that's when the recovery menu was released.
