PS3 Evilnat 4.88.2 update error

I went through the patching process with bgtoolset, but when I try to install Evilnat 4.88.2 I get a "data is corrupted (8002F957)" error message. I'm using a 128gb flash drive, but I have it formatted to Fat32 and the system does read it fine, so I don't think that's the issue. I did notice in the jailbreak guide it mentioned rebooting the system "when the toolset tells you it's ok," but I didn't see a message explicitly telling me to reboot after I installed the patch. Do I need to re-run the tool? Also, should I just wait for a 4.89 CFW at this point rather than trying Evilnat 4.88.2 again? I don't really care about online games but I would like the option to log in to PSN if necessary.

So that tends to be due to the system not being patched properly. Also seen just a HDD format fix this issue. What I would suggest is trying to patch again & if needed post the log files here as someone else might be able to help more. Only used it once but it is a very robust toolset.

As for online it may be a while before we see a CFW for 4.89 but I am sure it will come. And if needed you can still get online for a bit but I haven't had a reason to go online in a while. Backed up all my games years ago. But he patient someone will eventually release a 4.89 CFW.

Just to add to what Coro rightly said, if ever you did reboot and still got the error afterwards, it's likely you forgot to apply the patch after loading it with the Flash Memory Manager, it's a common mistake to make.

This was the actual issue, now I've got Evilnat installed and everything is working fine! I do miss the online though, but mostly because I still have a non-smart TV without any video apps so I liked using YouTube on it. But I guess this gives me an excuse to finally get through my backlog of anime DVDs/Blu-rays!
