Hello guys,
Few days ago i bought a broken PS3 Slim. Everything looks well but in my opinion there is a bricked console - still green light no video and sound.
I inserted new hdd drive and i try to fix that by recovery mode -> firmware upgrade.
Unfortunetly when i try do that nothing happends, USB external drive with PS3\UPDATE\PS3UPDAT.PUP probably is not detect.
-Other revovery options like console reboot works fine.
-Wired contected PS3 controller had a lit light on 1 postition - it sync.
-USB was formated as MBR FAT32.
-I used right USB console port.
-Port works because controller sync by that port.
-Optical drive (BluRay) is broken.
What can I do? Could you please help me?

try this:

Reset Video Output

If you are changing cables or cannot see an image on the screen, you may need to reset the video output to default settings. To reset the video output:
  1. While the PS3 system is in standby mode (red light on the front of the system), hold down the touch-sensitive On/Off button on the front of the system until the PS3 beeps a second time (approximately 5 seconds), then release it.
  2. The PS3 will power up, the Video Output Settings will automatically reset to the standard resolution (or detect the current display output settings of your TV/monitor).

Thank you for your reply.
Sorry I forgot writing about that. i checked that trick but doesn't work in my case. I also used component cable (I mean AV cable from PS2) and tryed reset video output but still doesn't work.
I heard beeps but nothing happends.
I tryed fix that problem by these videos.
