Some games do not support VMC, Is it ok if I insert my FMCB MC into slot 1 and the other MC into slot 2 and then make the game work with the MC in slot 2 ?

Why is it that some people say that I should put the FMCB MC into slot 2 all the time ?

On my PS2 type SCPH-39004R, the configuration of my FMCB is that it is installed on the CM of the right slot (Slot 2) and I have a 64MB memory card in the left slot (Slot 1). It is very functional and does not break any problem.

FMCB can boot from either slot. But for some reason, many PS2 games only ever read from Slot 1: they don't even give you an option to use Slot 2. I don't know if there are technical reasons for this, or if it just became common practice for some reason.

That's the core issue here. It's not really about putting your FMCB card in Slot 2; it's really about putting your game-saving memcard in Slot 1. FMCB doesn't care where you boot from, but many games do care where you save to.

You can also saving games on the same card as FMCB is.

Because many games don't allow player to choose Memory Card in second slot. ;)

@EvenSpoonier There is no technical reasons for that.
