PS1 formatting freepsxboot memory card

I am using PS1 slim scph 102, I do not have a mod chip, I have a PS2, I installed freepsxboot 4.4 bios on the PS1 memory card using MCA and my PS1 did not react at all in the memory card section. I cannot format the ps1 memory card. PS2 sees the memory card as unformatted. Can I format my PS1 memory card using PS2? I don't have a empty CD and I don't want to spend any more money.

I tried memory card killer, but the memory card is not fixed again, it now looks like 120kb free space, but I can't copy save my other memory card in ps1

Thanks for your help. My English is not very good. No matter what I did, I could not save the memory card. I think it was ruined.

I tried but freepsxboot doesn't work on ps1. PS2 sees the memory card as 120 KB free. I tried 4.4 bios and 4.5 bios freepsxboot and unirom does not load on my ps1. The exact model is scph-102c, according to my research, it uses 4.5 bios, but I do not know if there is a problem with the memory card or my PS1. After formatting with memory card killer, I tried to copy the save on the other memory card, but it was not copied. I formatted it with mcav2 and it's still the same. memory card original. Thank you for your help. I think there is no solution at the moment. I hope a solution will be found later.

It is NOT a "save" but a MemoryCard-image and hence I suggested MCAv2 to flash/write the image...

Why do You think that it is not fixed? If OSDSYS recognizing card and after entering there You see 120KiB free, then all seems to be ok.

Just FYI: You cannot copy PS2 save to PSX card. You can copy only PSX saves from PSX or PS2 card to PSX card. That's because PS2 and PSX cards are different. PS2 have file system, while PSX one does not have, so only PSX saves can be sliced and indexed like PSX card was designed.

Empty memory card images (*.vm1 is Yours raw blank card, but I believe You do not need it anyway :P):

Sorry for my English, I use google translate. Although 120 kb of free space appears on ps2. When I tried save game on PS1 it still says unformatted. When I put the memory card back into the PS2, 120 KB of free space appeared again. I formatted it again and used the Mass Format Utility. As a result, nothing changed. When I try to copy the PS1 save file with ulauncher, the save file appears, but when I remove the memory card from the PS2 and insert it back, it still shows 120 KB of free space as if there is nothing. Yes, I tried the official freepsxboot files on github. I think the memory card may have been problematic from the beginning. I might be doing something wrong. Thanks for your help. I guess the only solution will be to buy a new memory card.

I will try this too. I try to explain the results.

I thinking that this card is physically damaged.

BTW: just a reminder, MCA will see only *.mcr extension. Both VM1 and MCR are binary the same anyway.

Unfortunately nothing worked

Well, that is normal procedure with MC Killer, I think this card is broken, turned to be read only. For unknown reason.

I bought a new memory card and installed freepsxboot 4.5 bios on it. I think the first memory card I tried was faulty, thank you very much for your help.

In theory, there should be an integrated tool in Unirom that can let you format the MC. In my case only this solution worked as intended, unfortunately

I don't know, maybe it could have been fixed in the memory card section by burning Unirom to a CD, but I threw that memory card away.
