Hello, I'm new here and I'm having a problem with my PS2 model 50001.
The laser reader isn't working, and while looking for alternatives, I found a method on YouTube to flash it without needing the reader or the "magic memory."
There are two versions of images that can be used: FHDB 1.93 and FHDB 1966.
I first tried version 1966, which started up correctly, but it wouldn't let me access the system explorer. Then I tried FHDB 1.93, which worked perfectly, so I decided to leave that version installed.
The process I used was to burn the FHDB 1.93 image to the disk using HDDRawCopy 1.10.
My disk is 1 TB, but when I open it with WinHiip, it only recognizes 120 GB, which I find strange, since the image is only 8 GB and seems to take up all the disk space.
Does anyone know why this is happening or how I can take advantage of the full capacity of the disk?
Also, I want to know if it is normal for the PC not to recognize the disk, and for only the WinHiip program to detect it.

Hello.

Never use any disk images with APA for other purpose than booting eg. uLE for disk formatting and installing exploit. APA is per disk boundary design, that's why it will be broken on different size disk than yours.

Never use WinHIIP, especially that it breaking APA on disks 1TiB and larger. A long story why not.

Windows, Linux, macOS etc. not understanding APA. For them it is empty space.

Thanks for the advice and help. I was able to get the playlist ready to play.
