I didn't like mw2012 too much either, NFS lost me when they took the focus away from vehicle customization. Loved the Underground era up through Carbon. High Stakes on the PSX is probably my personal favorite. Provided a good challenge without the AI being overly annoying.

In regards to MGS, I gotta say 2 & 4 were the best imo. MGSV was a big disappointment for me just like GTAV. Last games I ever pre-ordered lmao... Don't know how anyone could call it the best in the series... The open world approach was fun but everything got incredibly stale after some time playing "go here extract these guys, go here kill or extract this guy but don't let the gunship see you. etc" I preferred the classic linear approach with the abundance of cutscene's. Plus MGS:4 had a pretty fun multiplayer mode (MGO) at the time, the one on V took a different approach and feels more like any other shooter / call of duty.

Yes, MGS (psx) is the direct sequel of MG2 (MSX). In the first pages of the MGS manual there's a summary of what happened before in the first 2 games (at the time I didn't knew about the first 2 MG, I thought those 2 pages were just some background history :) )
There is actually ingame a bunch of pages about what happened before.

@ISAK.M asked if the game was a 3D re-make of MG... and... No MGS is not a 3D Re-make of MG on S@ny MSX ..... not if it was a sequel.

And as I said they are different game's with different plots... BUT all are all prequels or sequels of eachother depending on the game as the jump back and forth in the time line depending on the game.

I know the whole saga story back to front, upsidedown, in and out, evey sub story, twist , plots and every detail as this is my favourite game franchise, I know every inch of every game, every secret, easter egg etc. I also have every game on all the platfroms they were released for inculeding MG on the S@ny MSX. And have clocked at least 1500 hours or more on each game. I know 1 of my MGS4:GOTP save says 150 playthroughs at least... there's at least 2000 hours of gameplay there...

Then you missed the point of the game and why it was like that, It was like that to portray Big Boss building up his private mercenary army "Diamond Dogs" and his dream to create a fully free land "Outer Heaven" after the OG Outer Heaven was destroyed by Skull face of XOF, the shadow group of Fox Hound.

Peace Walker is like this as well as Peace walker is the prequel to MGSV: GZ and TPP.

Also the AI on this game was nuts> it will literally hunt you down if you got spotted, you couldn't just go and hide like on the other games as it would search all place you could hide in the area or bombard the area with morter shell and MG fire. If you head shooted too much eventually guards would end up wearing helmets and body armour, if you were always sneaky cameras would start to appear in places, if you always infiltrated at night snipers and guards with IR and NV googles would appear.... in the day you couldn't go within 75m of someone standing up or you would be spotted instantly. You really did miss all the advances that were made with this game.

God bless Kojima! He knows what we gamers want! Puppies and naked sniper ladies! Woot woot!

Perv.....lol... its a pitty that MGSV:TPP is the last one Hideo will ever make, he now longer owns the Metal Gear franchise. I though Konami would of learnt tfrom the last time they made an Metal gear with out him, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake was made after Konami made a sequel with out him and it plumeted and they begged him to make a true sequel...... eg> Metal Gear:Survive was a let down, and god knows what the new Metal Gear game will be like when thats released as the same with Survive, Hideo had nothing to do with the games development. He currently making another game which am waiting for it to be released, it looks epic....

I've still not played MGSV PP (I played GZ on Ps3 several times in both difficulty, I really liked it).

A friend of mine (a MGS enthusiast like you, he says: "MGS for me is THE GAME"...) said to me that MGSV is quite different from the previous, so you have to take it for what it is to fully enjoy it and it's a great game overall. Btw he complain about one huge thing regarding the story. He told me I'll see when I'll play the game, obviously I don't want any spoiler.

I still wish for the Metal Gear Rising that was originally supposed to launch. Before they sold it to a different studio or whatever happened, don't exactly remember. It looked and sounded awesome at the time though, believe it was 2009 I first read of it. The one that was supposed to take place between the events of 2 and 4 following Raiden's transformation anyways. That probably would have been great with Kojima in charge. Best thing that can probably happen in the future is a fully remastered reboot of MGS, probably not though who knows lol.

A lot of the things in 5 were really cool, gave it 2 playthroughs one rambo style one careful and coordinated with NL loadouts. The latter was much more enjoyable, I guess I got a bit annoyed with the AI being too witty in some cases and the Side Ops so that reflects my opinion lol. I recall doing a "Highly Skilled Soldier" extraction early in the game on my 2nd playthrough and took Quiet along with me for some reason, right at the very moment I was confident I was safe and about to stun my target, she fkn snipes him and he died lol. Made me laugh and be pissed off at the same time. Didn't use her anymore on that playthrough lol.

Finished Uncharted 2 . Damn it was great. Now for the 3rd one. Too bad it's a last on PS3. But damn they are so great.
Guess that goes with the saying: all great things must come to an end.

I'm not that into metal gear solid. I guess I have a hard time getting into those stealth games. that seems like a lot of pressure. ;)

I got a little more ways into new super mario u deluxe. I've already beaten the game, just trying to beat star road. I missed a star coin in 9-3, but I had to hurry as not to get caught by that big fish that's chasing you. I got the first two coins, which are pretty hard to get, so I wasn't going to take any chances.

I got all the star coins in the level following that. that snow stage was pretty easy. I got five stars in the wii u version, but I don't remember star road too well. I have all star coins from worlds 1-8 memorized just from playing the wii u version multiple times. :D

MGS Chronological, Currently MGS HD/PW

Hitman Series, Currently Hitman: Contracts

FFVIII (Because I never beat it)

Borderlands in order because Borderlands 3 exists, Currently first one GOTY Edition

Putting finishing touches on NFS:MW Single Player 100%

Also always playing the entire Ridge Racer series :)

Uncharted 3

I also never played metal gear except that nes one. (Ridiculous I know.)
Might try one for the ps3,but again I don't know how I'm going to react to the game if it's really stealth based.

Same with need for speed , I remember that shitty one on the Saturn and then ea released so damn many I just lost interest because it's such a huge franchise that doesn't seem to focus in one particular thing like Grid and other racing games.
Might give that also a shot someday along with Hitman or something.
I'm planning to thru a lot of other games when I'm done with Uncharted like dead space or something. Missing those heavy ambient games.

Most of the time you don't have to be stealthy in them games, you can go in all guns blazing if you want, you can have some pretty epic fire fights in MGS4 and MGS V The Phantom pain. With the phantom pain the firefights are intense, you can have long range ones and the AI will bombard you with heavy MG fire and morter shells, if there is a tank in the area that will hunt you down as well or just fire shells at you from range, and they can be pretty damn accurate with the shots.

One of the best things in MGS4 is you get to use Metal Gear Rex from the PS1 game and have a Metal gear v metal gear battle. Metal Gear Rex (MGS) v Metal Gear Ray (MGS2)

Metal Gear Rising is more of a hack and slash game but is really fun when you button bash some combos in and slice people into thousands of bits (< you can literally do this, it will even tell you how many bits you have slashed something into )

Best NFS game's are Most Wanted (PS2, not the crappy PS3 remake), Carbon (PS3), Underground 1 +2 (PS2), these game are heavy on car cutomisation> body kits, turbo upgrades etc. but the gameplay is some of the best NFS has ever had. The new ones are ok but not as good as the ones I mentioned.

along with Hitman

These are really good games. Hitman 2, Contracts, Blood Money and Absolution are some of the best. Think I have Silent Assassin rank on every level of every game lol.

All that part was incredible :D
MGS4 is the one I played most I think. I finished it different times in extreme difficult (without being discovered too). The hard thing is to finish the game without killing anyone, since there are a couple times you're not able to notice if you kill someone. So you have to finish the level all the way to the result screen without saving, hoping no one died.
I guess you know what I'm talking about :D

Really good action game with some memorable boss fights. The Kojima supervision is noticeable IMO, above all in the messages via Codec. Messaging Raiden's friends you can discover many interesting thing.

I subscribe. I played most wanted on ps2 and Underground 2 on og Xbox. I returned to the series only some months ago, I bought NFS 2015 for Ps4.
It is a good game (awesome graphics), but it has the always online issue, don't support racing wheels and even if it's a night NFS it lacks the neons!! (there's one car they add in a DLC that has neons, that's all).
I enjoyed it nonetheless.

I just started playing GTA4 to wash the bad taste of NFS:MW (2012). I started playing it after watching the crowbcat comparison video, and I have to say, mechanically GTA4 is deeper than GTA5. I am enjoying the game so far.

However, to all the lovely people on this forum (and this particular off-topic thread), I ask this : Is there a way to reduce the blurriness ? I have turned the Flicker Filter Off and also turned off the PS Smoothing from the Games Setting section. But the game is still blurry. All other games are crisp and sharp, I did not eff around with any settings. Standard settings, the same ones I used with Uncharted 1,2,3 and The Last of Us.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yep... return to Shadow Moses... The funnny part of this is when you get back into the "Blast Furnace" part and Otacon call's you on the codec telling you that you need to swap the disc's LMAO... in exactly the same place you would do it in MGS on the PS1.

I like stomping on things while in MG REX, to bad the railgun was removed off it for the storyline, but at least you get one after beating Cryin Wolf...

Yep, I got 2 save files for MGS4: One for going nuts and having firefights all the way through< making Snake puke because of how many people I killed LAMO.... it was a massicare all the way through the game. This save has about 110 playthoughs... you don't want to see the kill count lol..... serial killer comes to mind and I mainly used the M14 as a sniper rifle to snipe with al the way through the game. Or the Rail gun for absolute carnage lol.

The next save is for pure stealth... 156 playthroughs and not 1 kill> S rank on all levels> playthrough rank of big boss.I think I have big boss rank and S rank on all the games. Ans my Debin points is... well put it this way I can buy anything lol.

MGS5 is the hardest to get S rank on them, you have to know exactly where to go and what to do in the right order. Plus my Hero rank on there is through the roof, and not one kill on that either in all the playthroughs. Nearly all Diamond Dogs Soliders are S++ rank, but non are below A++, same with FOB soldiers.

Is there a way to reduce the blurriness ?

GTA 4 is meant to be like that, getting motion blur at high speeds afaik. I did not mind it tbh, it and adds a bit of imersion to the game. An not sure if you can reduce it in the display settings menu for the game.

Impressive :D
I just finished the game 4 or 5 times. My last playthrough I wanted to finish the game without kill anyone and at the same time without never be discovered (always in extreme difficult), but then I started other games... (it was almost 10 years ago). Maybe I'll return to this game soon or later.

It is more difficult than MGS4 at extreme?? Well sure you have a more open approach, thus more variables/things to put into account.
I actually played a couple time at my friend's home. He got S rank most times (at least the missions he showed me). He finished the game 2 or 3 times in row.

I confirm, GTA 4 is less crisp than games like Uncharted 2. Aside the in-built motion blur this is also due to the fact that on Ps3 the game isn't actually rendered in HD (1280x720) but something like 1152x640.

I only saw the Digital Foundry technical review (part 1), they talk about it enthusiastically. I'm curious to try it (in a year or two when it will drop to the right price and will have all the patches. I do so with every game).
